2017 might not have ended, or been the best year on record, but it was a fantastic year for mobile games, with plenty of stellar hits and incredible titles.

It was not easy to try and whittle down my vast starting list to just five picks, but I have done it anyway. Here are top 5 games you must play in 2017 to make your life complete.

#1: Final Fantasy Awakening

Final Fantasy The Awakening - Class Zero

Final Fantasy The Awakening is a mobile Massively Multiplayer Online Action Roleplaying Game (MMOARPG), licensed by Square Enix and developed by Perfect World Co. This Final Fantasy franchise inherits the dramatic stories behind the all-time popular series: Final Fantasy Type-0. Players can experience single-player RPG game filled with a rich storyline or battle with players over the world in various PvP modes in The Awakening. Through multiple quests, players can acquire a variety of characters with mixed kills and personalities to form the strongest four-man team to shape their adventure in the game.

#2: DigimonLinks

DigimonLinks

DigimonLinks is the newest Digimon mobile game and Bandai Namco’s most recent release. As someone who grew up watching the Digimon TV series and battled with friends on a Digivice, this game is something that brings up familiar characters and good old memories. This game has basically two main modes of gameplay. In the first mode, it is about building up the home base, or “farm,” much like other mobile “base builder” games where players can choose to build a variety of facilities (house, dojo, warehouse, etc.) to beef up their capabilities to strengthen their Digimons. The second mode allows players to do quests by battling in-quest Digimons to acquire new materials to upgrade their own Digimons. Both gameplay modes in DigimonLinks are plentiful in options allowing players to grow their Digimons, digivolve them and form the best team.

#3: Seven Knights

Seven Knights

Seven Knights is one of the highly successful games, launched by Korean mobile game company, Netmarble. Topped with impressive graphics and rich contents, Seven Knights brings turn-based Role-Playing Games to mobile game players as they collect and upgrade hundreds of heroes, blazing through battles with various battle styles and options. The game features robust game mechanics which allows players to enjoy a wide range of game modes like Adventure, Celestial Tower, Daily Dungeon, Raid, Arena, Castle Rush, Guild War and Boss Fight to acquire materials, characters, and equipment. This game is also famous for its collaboration with big names like Bleach and Guilty Gear to bring even more characters to their existing arsenal of more than 230 characters.

#4: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius

Final Fantasy Brave Exvius

If you are a hardcore Final Fantasy fan or a role-playing gamer, then Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is a mobile game title not to be missed. As a joint collaboration between gumi Asia and Square Enix, this game brings the best of both worlds, offering a brand new role-playing experience in the series exclusively on mobile. The game features a turn-based battle system, found on Brave Frontier, with an in-depth storyline, often spotted in most Final Fantasy game titles. Gamers can also acquire new characters, along with various summons and familiar faces that can be found in other Final Fantasy franchise.

#5: Mobile Legends

Mobile Legends

If you know about Defence of the Ancients (DOTA) and League of Legends (LOL), you will definitely be familiar with Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games. Mobile Legends is one of the first successful MOBA games developed for mobile gamers. The game allows players to control a single character in one of two teams. The aim is to destroy the opposing team’s primary structure with the assistance of periodically spawned Artificial intelligence (AI) units that march forward along set paths. Like most MOBA games, there are three lanes – top, mid and bottom. And similarly, there are towers at each checkpoints deterring players from advancing without destroying them. With over 34 heroes, players are going to get spoilt for choice.
