A startup based in Vietnam, JobHopin, is developing an automated platform for job recruitment in the Southeast region, and today it announced that it had scored US$2.45M in a Series A funding round. This figure brings the total amount raised by the startup to US$3 million, from investors such as EduLab Capital Partners, Canaan Capital, NKC Asia, KK Fund, SEMA Translink, and Mynavi Corporation.

JobHopin was founded back in 2017 by Kevin Tung Nguyen, who is the CEO of the platform. Bunny, a matching platform of JobHopin, uses machine learning to pair the most suitable candidates with relevant jobs.

The platform says that there are nearly 60 million knowledge economy workers in the region (Southeast Asia) and about 108 million job placement every year, but most positions take an average of one month to fill because many companies still practice pre-screening manually.

JobHopin’s Bunny standardizes resumes and language used in job descriptions for better analysis of data, and then the data is used to find appropriate candidates for available positions.

The startup has a database of over 1.4 million job candidates that were derived from 2,000 enterprise clients in Vietnam and online databases, and it provides real-time market data of talent supply (the number of people qualified to take up certain positions), analysis of salaries, and hiring demand.

The features can be easily integrated into other services such as third-party job portals, testing services, and online education platforms.

Liam Pisano from EduLab Capital Partners said, “We are excited to now be a part of the JobHopin story and lend our support. This is a company that is connecting the growing Vietnamese economy to a talented workforce while finding ways to help job seeker improve their profile and bridge skills gap.”
