ASUS unveils the ROG Ally X with significant upgrades following an exclusive Singapore launch

ASUS launches the ROG Ally X in Singapore, featuring major upgrades for enhanced gaming. Available from 26 July.

ASUS recently introduced the ROG Ally X, which will be available in Singapore from 26 July. The launch was celebrated with an exclusive preview event on 11 July at the ROG Experience Store.

The ROG Ally X is designed to enhance your gaming experience, powered by the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor and equipped with up to 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM. This gaming powerhouse now boasts up to 1TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD storage, allowing for quicker game loads and ample space for large game files. The device also features a Full HD 120Hz high refresh rate display with FreeSync Premium, ensuring crystal clear, smooth visual performance in fast-paced games.

ASUS has meticulously redesigned the ROG Ally X to include an 80Wh battery, providing extended playtime without frequent recharges. The design also includes dual USB Type-C ports, supporting up to 100W chargers for quicker power-ups. The revamped cooling system, featuring the ROG’s Zero Gravity thermal system and dual 77-blade fans, ensures the device remains cool and quiet under heavy use, allowing for uninterrupted gaming sessions.

The new ROG Ally X represents a significant leap over the original ROG Ally, featuring a myriad of enhancements. It comes equipped with a larger battery for longer playtimes and now supports faster charging with compatible Type-C chargers. The RAM has been upgraded to 24GB of LPDDR5X-7500, offering more bandwidth for handling intensive gaming sessions.

Storage capacity has also been boosted, with the new model featuring up to 1TB of high-speed SSD, compared to the original’s lesser capacity. The physical design has been tweaked for better ergonomics; the device now includes rounder grips for a more comfortable hold, stiffer and more responsive joysticks, and an improved D-Pad for enhanced control precision.

The ROG Ally X also features an upgraded display panel that supports a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother gameplay visuals. ASUS has also added a second USB Type-C port that supports USB4 speeds and Thunderbolt devices, significantly expanding users’ connectivity options.

The ROG Ally X is more than a simple refresh; it’s a comprehensive upgrade designed to meet the needs of the most demanding gamers. Priced at S$1,199, it is set to redefine handheld gaming with its superior performance and innovative features.
