Asus reveals gold-covered RTX 5090 Dhahab Edition for US$10,000

Asus unveils the gold-covered RTX 5090 Dhahab Edition, which costs over US$10,000 and blends luxury design with top-tier GPU performance.

If you thought graphics cards were already expensive, wait until you see what Asus has done now. You’re looking at the most eye-catching GPU — the Asus ROG Astral RTX 5090 Dhahab Edition — and it’s unlike anything else on the market. Inspired by Middle Eastern design and covered in real gold, this graphics card is as much a piece of art as it is cutting-edge tech. But don’t expect to get your hands on it unless you live in the Middle East and have at least US$7,000 to spare.

A GPU covered in real gold

With this latest launch, Asus has gone far beyond performance specs. The Dhahab Edition is wrapped in a custom-designed shroud made with 6.5 grams of pure 999 gold. The word Dhahab means “gold” in Arabic, and this GPU stays true to its name—you’ll instantly notice the rich golden finish with touches of deep blue, evoking desert imagery.

The gold alone adds US$700 to the price of the graphics card. However, the rest of the cost, which can rise to over US$10,000, depending on your country, is tied to the powerful hardware inside and the card’s limited-edition status. Asus calls it a “collector’s item,” and it is. This isn’t just a GPU; it’s a luxury product.

Arabic calligraphy wraps around the outer casing, with words meant to symbolise strength, courage and unity — core values Asus says reflect the Middle East’s growing role in the tech world. To add to the theme, the shroud also features subtle outlines of modern skyscrapers.

Top-tier performance with a collector’s twist

Although Asus hasn’t released exact technical details, this is expected to be among the highest-performing RTX 5090 models. The card has a quad-fan setup (3+1) to keep things cool, suggesting it’s built for very high clock speeds. The hardware is designed to handle demanding workloads, from top-tier gaming to professional graphics and AI applications.

However, it’s not just about raw power. Asus has designed the Dhahab Edition to appeal to collectors and luxury tech lovers. This isn’t a GPU you buy just for performance; it’s one you showcase. It brings together modern graphics technology and a strong cultural design element, with no expense spared.

Limited to the Middle East

Don’t rush to your local shop just yet. Asus has clarified that this edition will only be sold in the Middle East. That decision makes sense, given its regional inspiration and styling. Prices will vary by country but start at around US$7,000, with some listings pushing past US$10,500.

If you live outside the region, you’re out of luck — unless you’re willing to import it or pay a premium from collectors down the line. Either way, you’ll unlikely see this gold-covered GPU in most gaming setups anytime soon.

Whether you view it as over-the-top or a creative blend of culture and tech, the Asus ROG Astral RTX 5090 Dhahab Edition is making waves for all the right reasons — and it’s turning heads.
