Baldur’s Gate 3 introduces major update

Larian Studios releases Update 4 for Baldur's Gate 3, presenting over a thousand gameplay enhancements and inclusivity features, ensuring an enriched RPG experience.

Larian Studios has launched Update 4 for Baldur’s Gate 3, offering enhancements that promise to refine the RPG gaming experience. This significant update rolled out three months after the game’s complete release, caters to both general gameplay improvements and accessibility.

Noteworthy changes in Update 4

Since its release for PC and PS5, Baldur’s Gate 3 has been lauded for its intricate narrative, top-tier voice acting, detailed surroundings, and expansive gameplay. Despite its success, some initial bugs prompted Larian Studios to roll out corrective patches and updates.

The current Patch 4 introduces over a thousand refinements ranging from combat adjustments to the tweaks in Scratch’s fetching antics. Notably, this patch has prioritised inclusivity, offering settings that cater to colour-blind gamers. Players can now select from protanopia, deuteranopia, or tritanopia, enhancing the visual distinction of characters and markers. Moreover, players now have the flexibility to modify the look of their hirelings during recruitment. The update also sheds light on how Withers’ wardrobe functions.

Bugs addressed and future prospects

While the release of Update 4 addresses multiple glitches, Larian Studios remains vigilant. This caution stems from the experience of Patch 3’s launch, which led to unexpected crashes and warranted an immediate hotfix. Players remain optimistic that this latest patch will only uplift their gaming journey.

Although PC and PlayStation 5 gamers are now enjoying the added features of Update 4, Xbox players will need to exhibit patience. Larian Studios is gearing up to make Baldur’s Gate 3 available for Microsoft’s consoles later this year. While these versions are in the playtesting phase, a precise release date remains undisclosed.
