Canon launches the SELPHY QX20, a portable photo printer for creative on-the-go printing

Canon introduces the SELPHY QX20, a compact and portable photo printer that allows for creative and quick on-the-go printing with fast charging.

Canon has launched the SELPHY QX20, its latest portable photo printer, designed to give users more flexibility and creativity when printing photo stickers. This new model is an upgrade from the popular SELPHY SQUARE QX10, maintaining its compact size while adding the ability to print on business card-sized paper (86x54mm). With this added feature, the SELPHY QX20 offers even more options for printing and preserving your treasured memories.

Available in three stylish colours—Sand White, Dark Grey, and Terracotta Red—the SELPHY QX20 combines a sleek design with functionality. David Yeo, Senior Marketing Manager of Consumer Business at Canon Singapore, said, “The SELPHY QX20 is the go-to compact photo printer for users to make their memories tangible in a fun way. With its ability to produce customisable and high-quality photo prints in an extremely portable form factor, we believe the SELPHY QX20 will be an enjoyable and tactile experience for all.”

Portable and convenient for creative printing

Weighing less than a 500ml water bottle and small enough to fit into everyday bags, the SELPHY QX20 is ideal for printing photos wherever you go. Once connected to a smartphone or smart device via the SELPHY Photo Layout app, users can edit their photos, add decorations, and arrange the layout before printing. The printer supports two sticker paper formats, allowing for various creative projects such as scrapbooking, labelling, and even creating souvenirs for gatherings that can be handed out on the spot.

Building on the success of previous models like the SELPHY QX10 and CP1500, the SELPHY QX20 uses dye-sublimation thermal transfer technology to deliver vibrant colours and smooth image transitions. A new sharpness processing method has been added, allowing users to achieve clearer, more detailed images.

For those who enjoy customising their prints, the SELPHY QX20 offers a range of creative options through the app, including 35 stamps, 25 frames, up to seven overlays, along with text and paint tools. These features make it easy for users to personalise their prints, making each one a unique creation.

Durable prints for long-lasting memories

Beyond its creative features, the SELPHY QX20 ensures that every print is protected with a special laminate that shields it from water, dirt, and fingerprints. This protective layer also prevents colours from fading or bleeding, keeping your photos in excellent condition. If stored in an album, these prints can last for up to 100 years, making them valuable keepsakes for future generations.

In addition to creating high-quality prints, the SELPHY QX20 can turn photos into stickers, perfect for personalising items at events or adding a unique touch to gifts. Users can also save their edited images to cloud storage, making it easy to share them with family and friends online.

Fast charging and quick printing

The SELPHY QX20 has been designed to meet the fast-paced demands of modern life, printing photos in just 40 seconds without compromising on quality. It charges fully in about 80 minutes via a USB Type-C cable, a significant improvement over its predecessor.

Pricing and availability

Canon has announced that the SELPHY QX20 will be available at authorised dealers in October 2024. Pricing details are yet to be confirmed, but it is expected to be in line with Canon’s other portable printer models in Singapore.
