Cohesity and Semperis launch solution to strengthen identity resilience

Cohesity and Semperis launch Cohesity Identity Resilience to help enterprises protect and recover Active Directory and Entra ID systems.

Cohesity has partnered with Semperis to introduce Cohesity Identity Resilience, a new product designed to secure and restore enterprise identity infrastructure, with a focus on Microsoft Active Directory. The solution, now available for purchase from Cohesity, combines proactive protection, rapid recovery, and forensic capabilities to help organisations withstand cyberattacks targeting identity systems.

Rising threats to identity systems

Active Directory plays a central role in managing authentication and access to critical applications, systems, and data. Because of its importance, it has become a prime target for cybercriminals. Once compromised, attackers can gain unrestricted access, often leading to ransomware, theft of sensitive data, and long-lasting business disruption.

Cohesity Identity Resilience aims to reduce these risks by supporting protection and recovery for both on-premises Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID in the cloud. The system safeguards synchronised identity objects across hybrid environments, ensuring organisations can maintain operational continuity even after an attack.

Peter Hanna, Vice President of Partners for Asia Pacific, Japan, and Greater China at Cohesity, said, “Across the Asia Pacific region, identity access is emerging as one of the fastest-growing threat vectors, as cyber criminals work relentlessly to exploit vulnerabilities in today’s complex IT environments. This makes protecting foundational identity systems like Active Directory absolutely critical. With Cohesity Identity Resilience, we can now offer our partners and their customers a market defining solution that uniquely combines proactive protection, rapid recovery and post-incident analysis.”

Features of the solution

The new offering builds on Semperis’ expertise in identity system protection and recovery. It delivers automated, malware-free restoration to ensure business operations can resume quickly and safely after an incident. Features include proactive Active Directory hardening, secure immutable backups, cyber vaulting, rapid forest recovery, specialised identity forensics, and full post-breach analysis. These capabilities help organisations identify vulnerabilities, cleanse malicious traces, and validate integrity before restoring production systems.

Gerry Sillars, Vice President for Asia Pacific and Japan at Semperis, said, “Active Directory remains one of the most targeted assets in modern cyberattacks. Cohesity Identity Resilience, powered by Semperis, enables organisations to strengthen their resilience, ensuring they can withstand, respond to, and recover from identity-based threats with confidence.”

Building on partnership

Cohesity and Semperis began their partnership in 2024, and this product launch marks a major step in their collaboration. Industry partners have already expressed support for the initiative. Scott Harrison, Director of Hybrid Infrastructure Solutions at CDW, noted, “Active Directory compromises often turn into prolonged business disruptions that are costly and difficult to contain. With Cohesity Identity Resilience, powered by Semperis, we see a solution that directly addresses this gap—helping enterprises strengthen defences, recover quickly, and maintain confidence in their core identity systems. It’s the kind of capability our customers have been asking for, and it represents an important step forward in building true cyber resilience.”

Cohesity Identity Resilience is now available to enterprises seeking to protect critical identity infrastructure against the growing scale and sophistication of cyberattacks.
