Denodo launches Platform 9.2 with GenAI support and user-friendly data marketplace

Denodo Platform 9.2 boosts data access and GenAI development with a user-friendly marketplace, new AI tools, and enhanced data product support.

Denodo has announced the release of Denodo Platform 9.2, an update that enhances the usability of its data management platform for both business and technical users. Building on the capabilities of version 9.1, which debuted in November 2024, this latest version introduces an improved data marketplace, expanded generative AI (GenAI) support, and new self-service features aimed at simplifying the development of data products.

Intuitive data marketplace for business users

The Denodo Platform 9.2 introduces a new data marketplace designed to help business users find and access relevant data more easily. As organisations across Asia-Pacific continue their digital transformation journeys, navigating increasingly complex and fragmented data landscapes has become a growing challenge. The updated marketplace offers an experience similar to online shopping, enabling users to explore and retrieve data through a streamlined interface.

The marketplace is powered by Denodo’s semantic layer, which ensures that users see data in a meaningful business context. AI-driven automation also helps reduce manual tasks. Additionally, the platform now gives users visibility into how data is consumed downstream—such as through analytics tools or dashboards—and allows interface customisation by language, improving accessibility for global teams.

Stewart Bond, research vice president at IDC, commented, “The Denodo Data Catalog has always made data easier to access and use, even across organisations’ data lakehouse and supporting data sources, but I believe the new data marketplace functionality of Denodo Platform 9.2 makes access even more intuitive with a more user-friendly interface.”

Strengthening GenAI capabilities

With organisations pushing forward on AI initiatives, Denodo Platform 9.2 expands its GenAI features to meet these evolving demands. Building on the AI-powered Denodo Assistant and AI SDK introduced in version 9.1, the new release adds functionality to support faster development and deployment of GenAI applications.

The platform’s enhancements include dynamic personalisation of AI models using user-specific knowledge, improved handling of unstructured data for tasks such as image recognition and sentiment analysis, and a certification programme tailored for GenAI developers.

“Across Asia-Pacific, enterprises are accelerating their drive toward AI innovation but face unique challenges such as managing multilingual data environments and ensuring integrated governance across diverse data sources,” said Shanmuga Sunthar Muniandy, Director of Architecture and Chief Evangelist, APAC, Denodo. “Denodo Platform 9.2 empowers organisations in the region to simplify data access, speed up GenAI application development, and strengthen collaboration across diverse markets.”

Barend Van Coller, Data Analyst and Data Governance team lead at Alexforbes, noted that the new platform has democratised data access: “What was once the domain of IT and power users is now accessible to non-technical users through intuitive, conversational interactions.”

Advancing data product development

To support developers in creating scalable data products, Denodo Platform 9.2 includes improvements to development workflows, governance, and compatibility with open ecosystems. These enhancements feature new workspace support for continuous integration and development (CI/CD), enabling better collaboration across multiple teams through branch-based development.

The platform also introduces automated dependency analysis to reduce errors and improve data caching and curation processes. Expanded support for open table formats ensures greater compatibility with solutions like Databricks Unity Catalog and Snowflake’s Open Catalog.

Alberto Pan, Chief Technology Officer at Denodo, said, “By continuously evolving our capabilities in the areas of data self-service, data product development, and GenAI, Denodo is enabling enterprises to leverage data more effectively to enhance decision-making, automate complex workflows, and deliver more powerful services.”
