Epson launches new thermal point-of-sale printers for retail and F&B businesses

Epson introduces the TM-T82X-II and TM-T82IV thermal POS printers in Singapore, designed to boost efficiency in retail and F&B sectors.

Epson has introduced two new thermal point-of-sale (POS) printers, the TM-T82X-II and TM-T82IV, aimed at helping businesses in the retail and food and beverage (F&B) sectors improve efficiency and reliability. The launch comes as demand for fast and dependable POS systems grows worldwide, driven by the rise of e-commerce, mobile POS adoption, and increasing retail sales.

According to research from Future Market Insights, the global POS receipt printer market is set to nearly triple by 2033, reflecting the need for advanced solutions in industries that rely on high transaction volumes. Epson’s latest printers have been developed to meet these demands, offering upgraded performance, user-friendly designs, and features that reduce maintenance needs while boosting productivity.

TM-T82X-II: Affordable entry-level solution

The TM-T82X-II is designed as an economical option for small businesses without compromising quality. It delivers a 25 per cent increase in printing speed compared to its predecessor, reaching 250 mm per second. Built for durability, it comes with a 1.5-million-cut auto cutter and a 100 km print head lifespan, reducing downtime and replacement costs.

The compact design includes a built-in power supply, helping businesses save space and maintain clean counters. The printer also resists water and dust, making it suitable for various environments. With advanced thermal printing technology, it produces consistent results for text, logos, barcodes, and QR codes, including Code128 barcode printing.

Sustainability is also a key feature, as its paper-saving function can cut paper usage by up to 30 per cent. Connectivity is simplified through a dual interface, ensuring easy integration with different POS systems and peripherals.

TM-T82IV: Enhanced durability and versatility

For businesses with heavier transaction volumes, the TM-T82IV offers more advanced capabilities. It is equipped with a 2-million-cut auto cutter for extended durability, making it suitable for high-demand workflows. The printer also features design improvements such as a smoother interface cover and dust- and water-resistant surfaces, which are particularly useful in busy kitchens and F&B environments.

Cable management has been improved with an added case cover to keep wiring organised, reducing the risk of accidental disconnections. Connectivity options include dual or triple interfaces, supporting combinations of serial, USB, and ethernet connections. An optional Wi-Fi dongle allows for wireless POS setups, helping businesses minimise countertop clutter. The printer can be placed horizontally, vertically, or mounted on walls to suit different spaces.

In addition, the TM-T82IV supports external buzzers for customisable audio alerts, improving order management in noisy environments. Its combination of resilience, connectivity, and ease of use makes it a versatile choice for businesses that require consistent, uninterrupted performance.

Supporting high-volume business needs

Both models build on the success of earlier Epson POS printers and have been designed to enhance service quality while keeping operational costs low. Derek Tan, Head of Sales and Marketing at Epson Singapore, said: “Retail and F&B businesses demand more efficient operational flows, especially during peak periods with quick turnaround times. This calls for greater enhancements in business peripherals to help businesses enhance customer experiences and boost satisfaction. Epson is dedicated to supporting these high-volume needs as we continue to upgrade our printers’ design and technology with higher efficiency and reduced maintenance.”

The Epson TM-T82X-II and TM-T82IV will be available in Singapore from September 2025 through Epson’s authorised dealers and online platforms.
