Epson launches new WorkForce Enterprise AM-M5500 printer for high-volume mono printing

Epson launches AM-M5500 A3 mono printer in Singapore, designed for high-speed, energy-efficient enterprise printing.

Epson has announced the launch of the WorkForce Enterprise AM-M5500, its first A3 mono mid-range model in the WorkForce Enterprise Series. The new printer is designed to meet growing demand for high-speed, high-volume printing, delivering 55 pages per minute (ppm) and supporting enterprise users who require reliable performance in compact office environments.

Available in Singapore from June 2025, the AM-M5500 aims to improve printing efficiency while reducing energy consumption and environmental impact.

High-speed printing and scanning capabilities

Targeted at businesses with large mono print volumes, the AM-M5500 delivers consistent 55ppm output while supporting high-speed scanning at 70 images per minute (ipm) for single-sided and 140 ipm for double-sided documents. The device also supports optional Optical Character Recognition (OCR), allowing users to convert scanned documents into editable and searchable formats. This OCR function is aligned with those offered by other WorkForce AM-series models, including the AM-C4000, AM-C5000, and AM-C6000.

Epson developed the AM-M5500 for companies that prioritise both speed and reliability, especially in offices where physical space is limited. Its output and scanning speeds are designed to reduce downtime and enable quicker handling of large document batches.

Improved design and modular configuration

The AM-M5500 introduces a more refined design language across the WorkForce AM-series, featuring a curved profile and a 10.1-inch tiltable LCD touchscreen. The interface offers a consistent user experience across both A3 and A4 models, simplifying operation across different device types.

The device is also highly configurable. It supports dual cassettes for a floor-standing setup and allows users to increase paper capacity for larger print runs. For workplaces with more advanced finishing needs, the printer supports options such as stapling, booklet finishing, and an inner finisher suited for offices with limited space.

Focus on energy efficiency and sustainability

The AM-M5500 is powered by Epson’s Heat-Free Technology, which enables significant energy savings of up to 85 percent compared to conventional laser printers. This lower power consumption also contributes to reduced CO2 emissions and operating costs.

In line with Epson’s sustainability goals, the AM-M5500 is built with 30 percent recycled plastic and packaged in materials made from 80 percent recycled paper. It also requires fewer consumables and spare parts, reducing waste over the printer’s lifecycle. Eco-focused features include a power usage monitoring tool and visual prompts—such as a green leaf icon—to promote duplex printing and paper-saving habits.

“The AM-M5500 is a game-changer for businesses looking for fast and reliable high-volume mono printing,” said Derek Tan, Head of Sales and Marketing, Epson Singapore. “Its user-friendly design, eco-conscious features, and space-saving footprint make it a versatile option for corporate settings. As Epson’s first-ever A3 mono mid-range model in our WorkForce Enterprise Series, it underscores our continued commitment to delivering innovative solutions that enhance productivity, reduce operational costs and meet our customers’ evolving needs.”

The WorkForce Enterprise AM-M5500 will be available for sale in Singapore from June 2025.
