Helia partners with Informatica to enhance data governance and speed up claims processing

[output_post_excerpt]

Helia, one of Australia’s leading lenders mortgage insurers, has selected Informatica’s AI-powered Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) to improve data governance and accelerate claims processing. Informatica, a global leader in enterprise cloud data management, will help Helia streamline its data management processes, ensuring better security and compliance.

Meeting challenges in the mortgage industry

Lenders mortgage insurance is becoming increasingly important as rising living costs make it difficult for home buyers to save for the traditional 20% deposit. Helia, Australia’s first lenders mortgage insurance provider, helps home buyers by reducing the financial risk for lenders. This allows home buyers to access the property market sooner, overcoming deposit challenges.

With the mortgage lending industry rapidly evolving, Helia must handle growing volumes of customer data while also managing its complexity. In response to these challenges, the company is upgrading its systems to enhance the overall customer experience. This includes managing the increased risks of cyber threats and maintaining compliance with regulations.

Why Helia chose Informatica’s platform

To tackle these challenges, Helia needed a flexible and scalable data governance framework capable of connecting multiple data sources and cloud systems within the organisation. They also sought comprehensive data visibility and oversight.

Helia selected Informatica’s Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) to provide the necessary support. The company will implement Informatica’s Cloud Data Governance and Catalog (CDGC), which will help ensure that the data is AI-ready while improving data trust, literacy, and privacy across the organisation. The new platform will allow Helia to gain more control over its data, streamline operations, and ultimately enhance customer interactions.

“By taking control of our data and implementing AI-powered data governance, we’re building a foundation to surpass our customers’ expectations and maximize value from AI,” said Michelle Soakell-Ho, data governance leader at Helia.

“It was time for Helia to rethink our approach to exceed customers’ needs. Customers and home buyers trust us to be the custodians of their information, and we needed an integrated platform that would allow us to take charge of our data and deliver on its true value,” Soakell-Ho added.

Benefits of data transformation

Helia’s adoption of AI-powered data governance will enable the company to explore innovative customer engagement methods, including intelligent chatbots that can provide accurate information and automated decision-making processes for claims. This transformation is set to improve the overall customer experience, speeding up claims and simplifying interactions.

Informatica’s IDMC will provide Helia with a centralised data inventory and enable AI-driven automation, helping to classify and manage data more effectively. “IDMC enables Helia to build a centralised inventory of its data, enhance its classification processes using our AI-powered platform capabilities for automating processes and enforcing policies to manage this information,” said Alex Newman, Informatica’s Country Manager for Australia and New Zealand.

The cloud-based solution’s flexibility ensures that Helia can integrate its diverse data sources and systems, creating a robust yet agile data infrastructure. This will provide a more reliable foundation for managing data while ensuring that users can access trustworthy and accurate information.

“This flexible cloud-based solution helps deliver a future-proof approach to data governance and allows Helia to take its data capability to the next level with a contextual 360-degree view of high-quality, consistent data and AI-powered insights,” Newman added.

Helia’s partnership with Informatica highlights the growing importance of data governance in the digital era, especially in industries like mortgage lending, where customer trust and data security are paramount.
