Cybersecurity company Horizon3 has secured US$250 million in a Series E funding round, lifting its valuation to more than US$2 billion. The oversubscribed investment round was co-led by existing backers NightDragon and NEA, drawing in seven new investors alongside five returning supporters. EDBI joined as a new investor in the company, alongside Acrew, Blue Cloud Ventures, Demeter Group, PSG, SAIC and Sapphire.
This latest capital injection means Horizon3’s valuation has more than tripled from US$650 million since its Series D funding round just over a year ago. Alongside this valuation surge, the company reported 120% year-on-year growth in annual recurring revenue and expanded its client base to over 7,000 customers globally.
The new capital will primarily support international growth, with key plans to establish an ASEAN headquarters and a Regional Centre of Excellence in Singapore.
Singapore forms part of a wider expansion
Horizon3 intends to allocate a portion of the capital to scale its sales, marketing and partner network across enterprise, mid-market and US federal accounts. Beyond the United States, its global strategy involves formal entry into Singapore and Australia, while expanding existing local teams across Singapore, Australia and Japan. The company also aims to broaden its presence throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The planned Singapore operation will house both Horizon3’s ASEAN headquarters and its Regional Centre of Excellence. EDBI, which forms part of SG Growth Capital (the investment platform of EDB and Enterprise Singapore), views the investment as a strategic move. Yeung Chia Li, senior partner at EDBI, associated the backing with Horizon3’s commitment to building engineering, product and regional leadership capabilities in Singapore, pointing to the nation’s talent pool, digital infrastructure and technology ecosystem as primary factors driving the choice.
Gareth Cox, vice-president of sales for Asia-Pacific and Japan at Horizon3, stated that the funding would assist the firm in expanding regional teams, cultivating skills and reinforcing its commercial footprint across key markets.
The transaction will also bring two additions to Horizon3’s board of directors, with NightDragon founder and chief executive Dave DeWalt and managing director Morgan Kyauk taking up board seats.
NodeZero will expand into automated remediation
Horizon3 develops NodeZero, a platform designed to test an organisation’s production environment automatically for weaknesses that attackers could exploit. The software evaluates how distinct vulnerabilities, including configuration errors, weak credentials and identity control gaps, can be chained together to gain access to critical systems. Beyond identifying security gaps, NodeZero offers guidance on resolving detected flaws and verifies whether corrective measures have proven effective. Horizon3 also claims the platform can deploy honeypots during testing to help spot intruders who have already gained access to an environment. To date, NodeZero has conducted 310,000 tests in production environments, serving a portfolio that includes multinational banks, major healthcare networks, four Fortune 10 enterprises and large, classified government agencies.
Looking ahead, Horizon3 will direct a portion of its new capital towards developing automated defensive tools capable of remediating vulnerabilities uncovered during NodeZero penetration tests. The company views this evolution as a continuous learning cycle that bridges automated attack simulations directly with defensive countermeasures.
Snehal Antani, co-founder and chief executive of Horizon3, emphasised that the upcoming product roadmap will prioritise security gaps that present genuine real-world risks. “The goal of running pentests isn’t to find problems, it’s to quickly fix exploitable problems that matter.”
To realise this vision, the company intends to engineer autonomous defensive agents that act directly on findings produced by NodeZero, enabling identified weaknesses to be systematically tested, remediated and re-evaluated. Operationally, Horizon3 holds FedRAMP High authorisation within the United States. The firm further claims that NodeZero assists organisations in fulfilling compliance obligations under regulatory frameworks such as DORA, NIS 2, NIST CSF 2.0, HIPAA, SOC 2 and GDPR.
