HTC Vive Focus Vision PC VR headset arrives in Singapore

HTC Vive Focus Vision headset launches in Singapore with advanced tracking, 5K resolution, and launch promos worth S$509. Available December 2024.

HTC Vive has introduced its latest high-end virtual reality (VR) headset, the Vive Focus Vision, to Singapore. Designed for PC gamers and extended reality (XR) enthusiasts, this standalone headset promises advanced features for a superior VR experience. Whether into , streaming, or immersive mixed reality, the Vive Focus Vision offers cutting-edge technology to elevate your virtual adventures.

HTC Vive’s commitment to bringing this next-generation XR and VR innovation to Singapore is exciting news for local gaming communities and tech enthusiasts.

Vive Focus Vision: immersive features for gamers

One of the standout features of the Vive Focus Vision is its lossless DisplayPort mode for PC VR gaming. Connecting directly to a PC’s graphics card, it supports up to 5K resolution, a 120° field of view (FOV), and a 120Hz refresh rate. This makes it ideal for platforms like SteamVR. However, the DisplayPort mode is set to be available only via an update in late 2024.

The headset boasts dual LCD panels with an impressive resolution of 2,448 2,448 pixels per eye, although it currently offers a maximum refresh rate of 90Hz. For added convenience, its auto-IPD adjustment uses built-in eye tracking to optimise the inter-pupillary distance for users. This feature enhances personal comfort and makes it easy to share the device in settings like gaming cafés or exhibitions.

Enhancing realism with tracking and passthrough

The Vive Focus Vision takes immersion to the next level with dual 16MP colour cameras, enabling stereoscopic passthrough. Gamers can maintain natural depth perception and easily see their surroundings during VR sessions, making it perfect for mixed reality (MR) content.

The device also features multiple tracking technologies, including the Vive Ultimate Tracker, Facial Tracker, and built-in infrared sensors. These allow precise motion capture, even in low-light conditions. For VTubers, the headset tracks up to 26 body joints and 38 facial expressions, offering realistic avatar movements and expressions.

Designed for comfort and long gaming sessions

The Vive Focus Vision features a rear-positioned battery for balanced weight distribution and a built-in cooling system to ensure extended use. The hot-swappable auxiliary batteries mean the headset can keep running for up to 20 minutes during battery changes. This thoughtful design supports longer gaming or working sessions without interruptions.

Key specifications:

  • Display: Dual LCD panels, 2,448 x 2,448 resolution per eye, 90Hz refresh rate, 120° FOV
  • Processor and memory: Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2, 12GB RAM, 128GB storage (expandable up to 2TB via MicroSD)
  • Connectivity: USB Type-C ports, Wi-Fi 6/6E, Bluetooth 5.2
  • Audio: Dual microphones with noise cancellation, dual drivers, and a 3.5mm audio jack
  • Tracking: Four tracking cameras, two eye-tracking cameras, and a stereoscopic passthrough
  • Battery: Hot-swappable battery with a two-hour runtime, 30W charging adapter included

The HTC Vive Focus Vision will be available in Singapore starting December 2024. It is priced at S$1,699 for the Consumer Edition (CE), which includes the headset, two controllers, one battery, a charger, and cables.

To celebrate its launch, HTC Vive offers a complimentary Vive Wired Streaming Kit (worth S$249) and three bundled VR games valued at  S$509. This promotion is valid until January 1, 2025, while stocks last.
