Huawei Cloud has commercially launched CodeArts Agent in Singapore. The platform gives local developers and enterprises access to an AI coding system designed to handle tasks across the software development lifecycle.
Its core capabilities support code generation, software development questions, and automated unit testing. By combining AI models with development tools and autonomous workflows, the platform addresses the needs of larger software projects where an AI system must understand existing code and coordinate multiple engineering tasks.
Sixteen agents cover development tasks
Central to the offering is Agent Team, which brings together 16 specialised AI agents covering requirements analysis, architecture design, coding, testing, issue resolution, and code review. Huawei Cloud explains that these agents work in tandem to plan and execute complex, longer-running development assignments. Because individual agents handle separate parts of a project within the same workflow, the system functions across several stages of software development. The platform also incorporates specification-driven development capabilities alongside more than 30 reusable engineering skills derived from Huawei’s software engineering practices.
CodeArts Agent is equally designed to work with large existing codebases. Huawei Cloud states that the platform can understand and retrieve code across tens of millions of lines, providing project-level context when developers extend or update existing software. That context is intended to help the agents account for existing code and dependencies when carrying out development work, rather than treating each request independently.
Developers can use existing development interfaces
Engineers can access CodeArts Agent through AI-native development environments, plugins, command-line interfaces, and text-based interfaces. Alongside these touchpoints, Huawei Cloud has included management and security capabilities for enterprise deployments. These controls are intended to help organisations integrate AI agents into existing development workflows while maintaining consistent controls across different environments.
The platform was presented at Huawei Cloud AI Boost Day Singapore on 28 August, where the company described AI coding tools as developing towards project-level code understanding, autonomous task planning, and collaboration between multiple agents alongside established functions such as code generation. Speaking on this broader trajectory, Tim Tao, President of Huawei Cloud Solution Sales, said, “Singapore is at the forefront of global AI adoption and is entering a new phase of large-scale deployment, mainstream adoption and value-driven development. Huawei Cloud will continue to deepen its presence in Singapore, advancing our Agentic AI strategy through closer integration of software and hardware, while building a comprehensive technology stack spanning AIDC, Agentic Infrastructure, Model as a Service (MaaS), and agent development platforms. Following the launch of CodeArts Agent, Huawei Cloud plans to bring more agent products and solutions to Singapore and the broader Asia-Pacific market.”
Early bird programme offers three months of access
To support adoption, Huawei Cloud introduced the Singapore CodeArts Agent Early Bird Programme for eligible enterprise users. Participating organisations will receive three months of complimentary access to the Professional Edition, with programme materials listing 10 seats per named account and 150 million tokens per seat each month, along with renewal discounts after the 90-day trial.
The initiative also provides structured implementation assistance for participating teams. Organisations can receive one-on-one coaching from local experts and additional support intended to help development teams introduce AI-assisted software development practices.
