Republic of Gamers launches new ROG Xbox Ally handhelds in Singapore

[output_post_excerpt]

Republic of Gamers (ROG) has announced that its latest handheld gaming devices, the ROG Xbox Ally and the ROG Xbox Ally X, will be available in Singapore from 17 October 2025. Both models are powered by new AMD Ryzen Z2 Series processors and are designed to deliver desktop-level performance in a portable form factor.

New generation of handheld gaming

The ROG Xbox Ally features an AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor with four Zen 2 cores, eight AMD RDNA 2 GPU cores, 16GB of LPDDR5X-6400 RAM and a 512GB M.2 SSD. It comes with a 60Wh battery to extend play sessions.

The higher-end ROG Xbox Ally X introduces the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme chip with eight Zen 5 cores, 16 RDNA 3.5 GPU cores and an integrated NPU. It is equipped with 24GB of LPDDR5X-8000 memory, a 1TB M.2 SSD and an 80Wh battery for longer use. Both models feature a 7-inch full HD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, AMD FreeSync Premium, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for durability.

Xbox has worked closely with game developers to optimise thousands of PC titles for handheld compatibility. Games will carry either a Handheld Optimised or Mostly Compatible label at launch to help players identify the best experience on the new devices. The Xbox app will also support advanced shader preloading, allowing compatible games to load up to ten times faster and consume less battery.

The ROG Xbox Ally X will further benefit from upcoming AI-powered features through its integrated NPU. These include Automatic Super Resolution (Auto SR), which upscales visuals and improves frame rates, and highlight reels that automatically capture key gaming moments for sharing.

Experiential event ahead of launch

Consumers will have an opportunity to try the new handhelds before release at the ROG Xbox Ally Experiential Event, held from 7 to 12 October at VivoCity, Level 1, Central Court 3. Alongside the handhelds, ROG will showcase its 2025 AMD-powered laptops, including the latest Zephyrus and Flow models.
