StarHub to move all MyRepublic 4G subscribers onto its mobile network
StarHub will migrate MyRepublic 4G users to its network under an expanded deal, unifying services on one infrastructure without disrupting customer access.
StarHub will move all MyRepublic 4G subscribers onto its mobile network under an expanded agreement between the two companies. This agreement extends their wholesale relationship established in 2022, which already places MyRepublic’s 5G services on StarHub’s network. The expansion also follows StarHub’s acquisition of MyRepublic Broadband last year.
The migration will place MyRepublic’s 4G and 5G mobile services on the same underlying network. The company will continue serving customers under its own brand throughout and after the transition.
Customers do not need to act yet
MyRepublic has confirmed that its 4G subscribers do not need to take any action at this stage. Its customer service team will contact affected customers directly with further information regarding the transition. Meanwhile, customers will continue to have access to StarHub’s nationwide 4G and 5G network throughout the migration.
Highlighting the transition, Vaughan Baker, Chief Executive Officer of MyRepublic, noted that bringing 4G users onto the network reinforces their ongoing partnership. “The ability to enable our 4G customers to experience a service underpinned by StarHub’s network, just as our 5G customers do today, reflects the further strengthening of the quality of partnership between our two organisations. There is no need for MyRepublic 4G customers to do anything at this stage. Our customer service team will be in touch soon to ensure a smooth network transition,” he said.
StarHub adds scale across its consumer brands
StarHub linked the agreement to its plans to grow its consumer business and increase the number of subscribers using its network. Chief Executive Officer Nikhil Eapen described StarHub as Singapore’s second-largest mobile operator by revenue market share. He connected the MyRepublic agreement to consolidation in the local telecommunications market.
The arrangement also supports StarHub’s strategy of operating separate mobile and broadband brands for different customer groups, an approach reflected in the migration of redONE subscribers to eight. Matt Williams, StarHub’s CEO designate and Chief of Consumer Business Group, said the redONE and MyRepublic migrations would add scale across the company’s consumer operations.
