WWE 2K25 confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 launch on 23 July

WWE 2K25 will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on 23 July, offering full game features, new content, and multiple special editions.

2K has announced that WWE 2K25 will officially launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on 23 July 2025, expanding the game’s reach to players on the newest version of Nintendo’s popular console. Pre-orders are now available, offering fans early access to the full suite of WWE 2K25 game modes, including both offline and online gameplay.

The Nintendo Switch 2 version will include all standard match types and gameplay options, allowing players to enjoy the full WWE 2K25 experience on the go or while connected online. The game will be released in three main editions: the Standard Edition, featuring Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman on the cover; the Deadman Edition, showcasing the legendary Undertaker; and the Bloodline Edition, highlighting Roman Reigns alongside other members of the Bloodline faction.

New showcase mode and gameplay upgrades

A standout feature in WWE 2K25 is the new 2K Showcase: The Bloodline’s Dynasty. Hosted by Paul Heyman, the mode explores the legacy of The Bloodline through the stories of the Anoa’i, Fatu, and Maivia families. Players can relive historical matches, rewrite key moments, or imagine fantasy bouts, such as the Wild Samoans taking on the Dudley Boyz. USA TODAY Sports described the showcase as “a fantastic trip down memory lane.”

Exclusive to Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, a new feature called The Island introduces a fully interactive world with four themed districts. Players can explore, complete challenges, and take part in quests, all in pursuit of a WWE contract endorsed by Roman Reigns. The Island includes multiple storyline chapters, character upgrades, and unlockable items. Screen Rant praised the concept as “a fresh and inventive new take.”

Gameplay enhancements also include the addition of intergender matches, allowing men and women to compete across most modes. WWE 2K25 also marks the return of Chain Wrestling and introduces new match types such as the Bloodline Rules Match and Underground Match. New barricade diving moves add more excitement to in-ring action.

Expanded roster and returning fan-favourite modes

WWE 2K25 features an extensive roster of over 300 playable characters, including stars from RAW, SmackDown, NXT, WWE Legends, and Hall of Famers. Players can take control of familiar names like Cody Rhodes, Becky Lynch, Rey Mysterio, Rob Van Dam, LA Knight, Lita, Chyna, and Jacob Fatu. IGN described the lineup as “absolutely stacked.”

MyGM returns with online multiplayer support for up to four players, allowing general managers to build rosters and compete through multi-week seasons with more GM options, cross-brand events, and live show scheduling. MyFACTION also makes a comeback, adding new card types, World Tour mode, and extended live event support for better replay value. Persona Cards introduced in this mode can now be used across all gameplay types.

MyRISE introduces a unified storyline for both male and female created characters, with the player joining or fighting against an NXT takeover led by Bayley and Kevin Owens. The story branches out based on personality choices and includes new characters, arenas, and items.

Universe Mode sees the return of Promos, now with expanded types, outcomes, and cutscenes, giving players greater storytelling control. Meanwhile, the Creation Suite remains a central part of the game, allowing players to customise Superstars, referees, arenas, entrances, championships, and more.

Editions and post-launch content

Three editions of WWE 2K25 will be available:

  • The Standard Edition is priced at US$69.99. Pre-orders include the Wyatt Sicks Pack, featuring five additional Superstars and exclusive mask cosmetics for The Island.
  • The Deadman Edition, available for US$99.99, includes all Standard Edition content plus additional Undertaker-themed content such as exclusive Persona Cards, in-game items, and a Season Pass for five post-launch DLC character packs. It also includes 15,000 VC.
  • The Bloodline Edition, priced at US$129.99, adds even more content, including the Ringside Pass, Superstar Mega-Boost, and unique Persona Cards for Jey Uso and Roman Reigns. It also features The Rock Nation of Domination Pack and the WrestleMania 41 Pack, which includes a new arena and additional Superstars to be released later.

The WWE 2K25 DLC roadmap promises five character packs, with two already available and three more scheduled in the coming months. Celebrity appearances, such as Shaquille O’Neal, and returning WWE Legends like Mark Henry, the New Age Outlaws, and Jesse Ventura are among the additions.
