Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo will join Gran Turismo 7 in October, featuring in the game’s first EV Experience alongside Xiaomi SU7 Ultra and other electric vehicles. The upcoming feature will include dedicated driving challenges and training focused on the acceleration, braking and handling characteristics of high-performance electric vehicles.
Gran Turismo series Producer Kazunori Yamauchi and Jean-Arthur Madelaine, Head of Design from Xiaomi Europe R&D and Design Center at Xiaomi Auto, announced the upcoming arrival at Gran Turismo World Series 2026 Round 3 in Singapore. The pair also discussed the development of Xiaomi Vision GT and the evolving experience of electric performance driving.
Xiaomi becomes the 36th Vision Gran Turismo participant
With this entry, Xiaomi becomes the 36th brand and the first technology company to join the Vision Gran Turismo project. Launched in 2013, the programme invites brands to create original concept cars exclusively for the Gran Turismo series and has produced 50 Vision Gran Turismo models.
The concept originally made its global debut at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona, where it was unveiled by Xiaomi Auto Chief Designer Li Tianyuan. The physical concept was subsequently shown at Auto China 2026 in Beijing. Its addition to Gran Turismo 7 will allow players to experience the concept as an interactive in-game vehicle after its physical showcases.
Built around a suspended, teardrop-like cabin, the car follows Xiaomi’s “Sculpted by the Wind” design philosophy. Xiaomi describes every surface as aerodynamically optimised, with structural elements using airfoil-shaped cross-sections. Across the exterior, the cross-shaped headlights double as airflow guides, while the halo-shaped taillight is incorporated into the rear air channel. Xiaomi said the concept builds on aerodynamic approaches used in production vehicles including Xiaomi SU7 and Xiaomi YU7. Together with an active wake-control system, the company claims the design achieves an aerodynamic efficiency value of 4.1 and a drag coefficient of 0.29.
Yamauchi described the design as retaining a simple overall form while emphasising its curved shape. “The overall design maintains its simplicity while revealing an indescribably sleek and incredibly sexy curved aesthetic. I believe this car will become a role model for this era.”
Inside, the cabin uses what Xiaomi calls a “Sofa Racer” concept, with a cocoon-like layout intended to combine comfort, immersion and driver focus. According to Xiaomi, Xiaomi Hyper XiaoAi and the Xiaomi MiMo foundation model allow the cockpit to anticipate and respond to driver intent while connecting with the company’s “Human × Car × Home” smart ecosystem.
EV Experience adds dedicated electric driving challenges
Gran Turismo 7’s first EV Experience feature will include events featuring Xiaomi SU7 Ultra and Xiaomi Vision Gran Turismo, alongside other electric vehicles. The feature is designed around dedicated driving challenges and training that let players explore how high-performance electric vehicles accelerate, brake and handle within Gran Turismo 7. Explaining how the concept translates to the track, Madelaine described Xiaomi Vision GT as a futuristic driver’s car engineered to pursue a balance between low drag and high downforce. In his account of its in-game performance, the vehicle maintains high speed and stability, producing what he described as an incredibly smooth overall driving experience.
Yamauchi also linked the collaboration to interest generated by the concept following its appearances at MWC Barcelona and Auto China earlier in 2026. The company said anticipation among racing and gaming enthusiasts for the opportunity to experience the vehicle in Gran Turismo 7 helped build momentum behind the collaboration. Players worldwide will soon be able to drive Xiaomi Vision GT on circuits including the Nürburgring, Le Mans and Suzuka. Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is also joining Gran Turismo 7, with both Xiaomi vehicles set to appear in the new EV Experience feature.
