ASUS ExpertBook Ultra targets AI business users with sub-1kg design and 50W CPU performance
ASUS ExpertBook Ultra combines AI PC hardware, sub-1kg portability, enterprise security and a 14-inch 3K display.
ASUS has introduced the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra, a 14-inch business laptop aimed at professionals and enterprises that need portable hardware for AI-assisted workflows, local data processing, hybrid meetings and mobile work.
Table Of Content
The device combines a starting weight of 0.99 kg with a 10.9 mm profile, a 70Wh battery, Intel Core Ultra X9 Series 3 processor options, integrated Intel Arc B390 graphics and a dedicated 50 TOPS NPU. ASUS is positioning the laptop as a flagship business device that prioritises portability, sustained performance, display quality, security and enterprise deployment needs.
Built for mobile work without cutting battery capacity
The ASUS ExpertBook Ultra is built from CNC-machined AZ31B magnesium-aluminium alloy and uses ASUS Nano Ceramic Technology for its exterior finish. ASUS says the material is 34% lighter than standard aluminium alloys, while the ceramic-like surface reaches a 9H hardness rating and is designed to resist scratches, wear and smudges.
The laptop measures 31.09 x 21.28 x 1.09 cm. The POLED version weighs 0.99 kg, while the Tandem OLED version weighs 1.1 kg. ASUS also claims the ExpertBook Ultra has the world’s smallest footprint for a 14-inch laptop, placing its compact chassis at the centre of the device’s business travel positioning.
Battery capacity is also a major part of the pitch. The ExpertBook Ultra carries a 70Wh battery and is rated for up to 26 hours of local video playback. Its 2S2P battery architecture is designed to reduce switching losses and improve power conversion efficiency. The laptop supports 50% charging in 30 minutes and 5V to 20V charging through USB-C, allowing it to charge from lower-wattage sources such as smartphone power banks or aircraft seat ports.
Sustained performance is the main enterprise pitch
ASUS says the ExpertBook Ultra can be configured with up to an Intel Core Ultra X9-388H processor, with other options including Core Ultra X7-358H, U7-356H and U5-325. The platform combines CPU, GPU and NPU resources, with the dedicated NPU delivering 50 TOPS and the total platform rated at up to 180 TOPS.
The laptop is designed to sustain a 50W CPU TDP through ASUS ExpertCool Pro Technology. Its cooling system uses dual fluid-dynamic bearing fans, 97 Liquid-Crystal Polymer blades, 0.1 mm aluminium heatsink fins and a crosswind positive air-pressure design. ASUS states that the device operates below 20dB in Whisper mode, below 28dB in Standard mode and below 42dB in Performance mode.
Graphics are handled by integrated Intel Arc B390 with 12 Xe cores. ASUS claims this integrated GPU outperforms an NVIDIA RTX 4050 running at 30W TGP by about 35% in 3DMark Time Spy. Storage options go up to a 2TB PCIe Gen 5.0 x4 NVMe SSD, with stated sequential read speeds of 14,090 MB/s and write speeds of 8,313 MB/s. Memory goes up to 64GB LPDDR5X at 9600 MT/s.
The display options include a 14-inch 3K 16:10 Tandem OLED touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 30Hz to 120Hz variable refresh rate, 1400 nits HDR peak brightness, 600 nits SDR brightness, 100% DCI-P3 coverage and Delta-E below 1. ASUS says the Tandem OLED design delivers triple the brightness of standard OLED while using 40% less power and reducing burn-in risk. A 14-inch 3K POLED touchscreen option is also available with 120Hz refresh rate, 1000 nits HDR brightness and 450 nits SDR brightness.
Enterprise controls sit alongside everyday usability
The ExpertBook Ultra includes ASUS ExpertGuardian and compliance with the NIST SP 800-193 firmware resiliency framework. Its hardware security stack includes an ASUS Security Processor, dual self-healing BIOS ROM, discrete TPM 2.0, Microsoft Pluton, Match-on-Chip fingerprint authentication, Windows Hello IR, a physical webcam shield and chassis intrusion alerts.
The laptop also meets Microsoft Secured-Core PC standards and supports Opal 2.0 self-encrypting drive options. ASUS is positioning these features for enterprise environments where firmware resilience, device recovery and hardware-level trust are part of procurement considerations.
For daily use, the laptop includes a full-size spill-resistant keyboard with 1.5 mm key travel, a 110 cm² glass haptic touchpad with six independent force sensors, and shortcut gestures for volume and brightness. Connectivity includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-A 3.2 Gen2 ports, HDMI 2.1 TMDS and a 3.5 mm audio jack. Wireless connectivity includes triple-band 2×2 Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, with ASUS claiming a 43% efficiency improvement in 5GHz and 6GHz bands through Laser Direct Structuring antenna integration.
ASUS has also bundled the MyExpert AI suite without mandatory subscriptions. AI ExpertMeet supports real-time transcription, translation and meeting summaries, while Knowledge Hub uses retrieval-augmented generation to query local documents such as PDFs, contracts and proposals. File Search is designed to search local and cloud files by context rather than exact filenames.
The ExpertBook Ultra has passed 24 MIL-STD-810H procedures across 11 categories and 157 ASUS in-house validation tests, including hinge, keycap and surface rub testing. It is backed by up to a five-year business warranty and next-business-day on-site service. ASUS lists ASUS E-Store, Lazada and Shopee under e-tailer options.
