M1 introduces flexible roaming plans for seamless overseas connectivity

M1 launches flexible roaming plans with daily data options and cost-efficient SIM-only bundles for seamless overseas connectivity.

M1 has launched a new set of roaming plans aimed at offering customers greater flexibility and value when travelling overseas. Designed for both short trips and extended vacations, the plans feature a “pay only when you use” model that removes the need for bulk data commitments.

Daily Passport offers value-driven roaming

M1 is currently the only telco in Singapore offering a daily roaming model that activates only when used within a 24-hour window. This makes it a practical choice for users on brief trips, such as day visits to Malaysia or weekend getaways to nearby destinations. The Daily Passport provides up to 3GB of roaming data per day at competitive prices of S$2.95, S$3.95, or S$7.95, depending on the destination.

According to M1, this is the highest daily data allowance currently available among local telcos. “Never worry about having to pay for more than you need,” the company stated, highlighting that users can simply turn on data roaming when needed. A recurring activation fee of S$4.95 per billing cycle applies if the service is used.

The Daily Passport is valid across 74 destinations, including popular markets such as Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It is compatible with M1’s Bespoke Flexi, Contract, SIM-only, and Family plans, and can be activated via the My M1+ App.

Destination-based pricing for added convenience

The Daily Passport offers three tiers based on travel destinations:

  • S$2.95 for 12 destinations including Malaysia (5G), Indonesia, Hong Kong, Thailand (5G), and Taiwan (5G)
  • S$3.95 for 26 destinations such as Australia (5G), Canada (5G), China (5G), Japan, South Korea (5G), and the USA (5G)
  • S$7.95 for 36 destinations including the United Kingdom, France, Germany (5G), India, Italy, Netherlands (5G), and the UAE (5G)

Users receive 3GB of data for each 24-hour period, which can be activated at any time of the day and is automatically billed only when roaming is used.

Maxx SIM-only plans offer extensive bundled data

For customers planning longer trips or looking for more bundled data, M1 also offers the Maxx SIM-only plans. These contract-free options provide generous data allowances at competitive prices and include roaming benefits.

The S$7.90 monthly Maxx plan, available at a promotional price for the first 12 billing cycles, includes 290GB of data usable in Singapore and Malaysia, along with 12GB of roaming data in selected Asia-Pacific and international destinations. After the first 12 cycles, the plan reverts to S$9.90 per month.

The S$10 Maxx plan includes 300GB of Singapore and Malaysia data, 16GB of roaming data, and up to 300 international direct dialling (IDD) minutes. Both plans also feature 500 minutes of local outgoing calls, unlimited incoming calls, local SMS allowances, and free caller ID and SIM card delivery. They auto-renew every 30 days.

These roaming solutions cater to the evolving needs of travellers who expect cost-efficient, high-data plans without the hassle of overpaying or pre-purchasing fixed data bundles.
