Mendix deepens collaboration with Snowflake to transform automotive software development

Mendix and Snowflake expand collaboration to drive faster software development, secure data use, and real-time insights in automotive.

Mendix, a Siemens business, has announced it will continue its collaboration with Snowflake, the AI Data Cloud company, to help enterprises extract more value from data through modern software development. The partnership aims to speed up digital transformation across industries, with a growing emphasis on automotive.

Delivering measurable business outcomes

Since the collaboration began, enterprises using Mendix alongside Snowflake have reported significant improvements. An industrial manufacturer was able to design and deploy new applications in just 16 weeks, cutting the time to value substantially. Another manufacturer modernised its outdated systems by building a new portfolio of applications within four months.

Organisations have also reported stronger cross-team collaboration. One oil and gas company developed more than 100 Mendix applications, 75% of which are integrated with Snowflake. This allowed data engineers, developers, and business users to work together seamlessly. In the aerospace sector, a manufacturer improved shopfloor security and efficiency by combining Mendix’s built-in guardrails with Snowflake’s dynamic data masking to protect sensitive information.

A transport authority also benefited by using Mendix to develop over ten applications, consolidating data from various sources into Snowflake for analysis. This gave the organisation greater visibility and insights for process optimisation and decision-making. Siemens Energy provides another example, having deployed more than 200 Mendix applications since 2018, nearly all of which connect to Snowflake.

“Snowflake is our data brain,” said Franz Klammler, R&D Engineer and Low Code Lead at Siemens Energy. “Everything you need is in Snowflake, and of course, an app without data is good for nothing. Having both platforms work together has been helpful, as we can bring together several use cases into one application in Mendix. It makes the architecture clearer, and you only have to sync once to Snowflake.”

Supporting the automotive industry

In May 2025, Mendix became a Snowflake Data Cloud Product partner for the launch of Snowflake’s Automotive Solutions. This package is designed to offer a faster development cycle, scalable infrastructure, and real-time supply chain visibility across suppliers, logistics providers, and inventory systems. With embedded AI and machine learning capabilities, the solutions aim to help manufacturers adapt quickly to evolving industry demands.

Mendix’s flexibility means it can support new Snowflake models and features as they are introduced. This enables more businesses to access Snowflake’s AI tools and close the gap between proof-of-concept and production deployment in the automotive industry.

“Snowflake customers are looking to go beyond traditional analytics, and our collaboration with Mendix allows them to quickly create intelligent and actionable enterprise applications using Snowflake’s Cortex AI,” said Tim Long, Global Head of Manufacturing at Snowflake. “We look forward to seeing the business value our customers will achieve through this seamless integration.”

A unified approach to enterprise data

With more businesses recognising the need to centralise data, the Mendix-Snowflake partnership offers a way to avoid AI silos while maintaining governance and control. By integrating low-code application development with a powerful data cloud, the companies aim to give enterprises greater agility and visibility as they pursue digital initiatives.
