Nintendo Switch 2 hits all Best Buy stores on July 17 with limited stock

Best Buy stores will restock the Nintendo Switch 2 on July 17, coinciding with Donkey Kong Bananza’s launch, but only in limited supply.

You’ll finally get another chance to buy the Nintendo Switch 2 this week. Best Buy has confirmed that every one of its physical stores will carry the console on Thursday, July 17, just in time for the launch of the highly anticipated game Donkey Kong Bananza.

If you’ve been waiting for the perfect time to pick up the new console, this might be the ideal opportunity. The restock will include “limited quantities,” so you’ll want to arrive early to avoid disappointment. While Best Buy hasn’t said whether it will stock both the standard console and the Mario Kart World bundle, the good news is that you’ll be able to walk in and try your luck at any location.

What to expect in stores

Best Buy has kept things vague in its announcement. It hasn’t confirmed whether both the standalone Nintendo Switch 2, priced at US$449.99, and the Mario Kart World bundle, priced at US$499.99, will be available in equal amounts—or if one will be easier to find than the other. For now, all they’ve said is that all stores will carry “limited quantities.”

If you’re someone who prefers shopping in person, this is your best bet to grab a console without the hassle of online queues or scalpers. Just be warned: supplies are still limited, and many stores will likely sell out quickly, especially with the added hype around Donkey Kong Bananza’s release.

Prefer to shop online? You’ve got options

If heading to a store isn’t your thing, you still have another way to get your hands on the Nintendo Switch 2. Amazon is offering customers the chance to request an invite to buy either the base console or the Mario Kart World bundle.

The invite-only system is Amazon’s way of handling high demand while trying to prevent bots and resellers from scooping up all the units. If selected, you’ll be notified when your invite is active and will have a limited window to complete your purchase.

So, whether you’re racing to the store or refreshing your inbox, there’s still a chance you can grab the next-gen Switch this week. With Donkey Kong Bananza launching the same day, demand is sure to spike, so act fast and plan ahead.
