No Apple Watch Ultra 3 this year, but a sleek new colour for Ultra 2

Apple Watch Ultra 2 gets a sleek satin black titanium finish and health updates, but no Ultra 3 was revealed at the Glowtime event.

Apple’s recent Glowtime event mainly focused on the much-anticipated Apple Watch Series 10, but there was a notable absence—the Apple Watch Ultra 3. While some expected a new generation of the Ultra, Apple decided to stick with its current Apple Watch Ultra 2 model. However, there’s a fresh update that could still turn heads—a sleek new satin black titanium finish.

A fresh look for Ultra 2

Apple’s decision to introduce this satin black titanium version gives the Ultra 2 a stylish upgrade. The colour is a deep, rich black with a subtle brushed effect, which adds a sophisticated edge to the watch’s design. The watch has an understated, elegant feel when paired with the all-new Titanium Milanese Loop, also available in satin black. This updated colour may seem like a minor change, but it gives the Ultra 2 a fresh and modern look that could appeal to many.

The satin black finish is more than just a new aesthetic; it complements the Ultra 2’s premium nature. Whether you’re wearing it casually or during outdoor activities, this subtle yet sleek update could push some people to choose Apple’s top-tier smartwatch.

A boost for current Ultra 2 owners

If you’re already an Apple Watch Ultra 2 owner, there’s good news for you, too. While a new Ultra wasn’t announced, Apple did reveal that the Ultra 2 will soon be updated with the same sleep apnoea detection feature introduced in the Series 10. This feature will also be coming to the Series 9, offering users a significant health-tracking boost without needing to upgrade their devices.

The Ultra 2 already stands out for its robust features, including its durability, long battery life, and excellent fitness tracking capabilities. So, even though a new Ultra 3 didn’t make an appearance, the Ultra 2 remains a strong contender in the smartwatch market. With this latest software upgrade, it’s clear that Apple is committed to keeping the Ultra 2 competitive with its newer models.

Is the new colour enough?

While the satin black colour may seem like a small change, it could be a game-changer for some potential buyers. The Apple Watch Ultra 2, with its rugged design, advanced features, and now a fresh new look, offers a premium experience that sets it apart from other Apple Watch models. If you’ve been on the fence about upgrading to the Ultra line, this stylish update might be the perfect excuse to make the jump.

The new satin black Apple Watch Ultra 2 is now available for preorder and will officially launch on September 20. It is priced at S$1,199, or S$1,339 if you opt for the Titanium Milanese Loop.
