POCO has officially brought the F9 Ultra and F9 Pro to Singapore, introducing a pair of smartphones that unite dedicated gaming hardware with the brand’s first 200MP camera arrangement, expanded battery capacities, and acoustic tuning developed in partnership with Bose. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform powers the flagship F9 Ultra, giving it top billing in the range. To reinforce graphic performance across both models, POCO has paired the primary silicon with a standalone VisionBoost D8 processing chip.
According to internal laboratory evaluations, POCO reports an AnTuTu benchmark score of 4,165,108 for the F9 Ultra, representing the highest result recorded by the company to date. Because this outcome reflects manufacturer testing rather than independent third-party analysis, it should be treated primarily as an in-house performance metric.
The VisionBoost D8 chip plays a central role in driving POCO’s Smart frame rate feature, pushing supported gaming titles up to 185 frames per second. Native support for 185FPS is already available in more than 20 games, while another five titles can reach the same threshold through the Smart frame rate engine. Because actual gameplay smoothness depends heavily on ambient temperature, network conditions, device settings, and software optimisation, performance and title availability will naturally vary across different regions.
This frame-rate enhancement technology can also operate alongside AI Super Resolution to boost visual fidelity during gameplay. At present, this upscaling feature supports five specific titles, including Call of Duty, Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, Mobile Legends Bang Bang, and PUBG Mobile.
185Hz displays and gaming controls
On the front, the F9 Ultra features a 6.9-inch POCO HyperRGB AMOLED panel, whereas the F9 Pro is fitted with a slightly smaller 6.59-inch display. Both screens deliver refresh rates reaching up to 185Hz for fluid motion and fast-paced gaming. Under specific testing parameters, POCO claims a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, with HDR content capable of climbing to 10,000 nits during internal evaluations. The displays also mark the debut of Xiaomi Vision Care within the F Series, earning both smartphones TÜV Rheinland Quadruple Eye Care certification.
Control responsiveness is anchored by an instant touch sampling rate of up to 4,800Hz, backed by a 480Hz tracking rate across up to ten simultaneous touch points and 200Hz gyroscope sampling. Activating some of these advanced control parameters requires turning on Game Turbo and remains limited to compatible software. To keep thermal throttling in check under sustained gaming workloads, both devices rely on POCO’s 3D IceLoop cooling system.
Bose audio and larger batteries
POCO has broadened its collaboration with Bose across both handsets to deliver improved acoustic performance. The F9 Ultra incorporates two stereo speakers paired with an independent subwoofer in a 2.1-channel configuration, while the F9 Pro employs two stereo speakers housed within a sealed cavity structure. Dynamic and Balanced sound profiles are selectable across the entire range.
A specialised Game audio mode elevates the presence of footsteps while preserving critical sound cues such as gunfire and speech. This enhancement is scheduled to roll out via a software update starting in September, with support limited to selected titles.
Battery capacity sees a substantial increase, led by the F9 Ultra’s 8,050mAh unit, which is the largest pack POCO has ever installed in an F Series smartphone and features a 16% silicon-carbon composition. The F9 Pro houses a 6,330mAh battery, with both variants supporting 100W wired and 50W wireless HyperCharge. Both models also supply reverse charging for compatible gear, offering up to 27W over a wired connection and 22.5W wirelessly. In simulated daily-use evaluations spanning music playback, social media browsing, email, map navigation, and video streaming, POCO claims the F9 Ultra achieves two days of battery life, though actual endurance will fluctuate depending on software, network stability, and personal usage habits.
200MP cameras and Singapore pricing
Optical hardware receives a major overhaul, with both handsets introducing POCO’s first 200MP main camera system with optical image stabilisation, complemented by a 32MP front-facing camera. The F9 Ultra adds a 5x periscope telephoto sensor that delivers 10x lossless zoom alongside 20x AI Ultra Zoom. The F9 Pro instead uses a 50MP 2.5x telephoto camera capable of focusing from distances as close as 10cm. Both devices support 4K video recording.
In Singapore, pricing for the POCO F9 Ultra begins at S$1,199 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration. Stepping up to 16GB of RAM with 512GB of storage brings the price to S$1,399, while the top-tier 16GB and 1TB version retails for S$1,699, with colour choices including Black and Dark Cherry. The F9 Pro is priced at S$899 for 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, or S$999 for the 512GB edition, available in Black, White, and Aurora Green colourways.
Early-bird promotions run until 17 September, lowering the starting price of the F9 Ultra to S$1,099 and the F9 Pro to S$849. Customers purchasing during this window receive bundled REDMI Buds 8-series earbuds depending on the smartphone selected, alongside three-month access to both YouTube Premium and Google AI Pro. The offer is completed by warranty coverage that provides one free screen replacement within the first six months and a two-year quality assurance plan.
