NTT DATA and Mistral AI partner to deliver secure and sustainable private AI for enterprises

NTT DATA and Mistral AI are joining forces to deliver secure, sustainable enterprise-grade AI for regulated industries worldwide.

NTT DATA has announced a new collaboration with Mistral AI to bring secure, enterprise-grade artificial intelligence (AI) solutions to regulated industries. The partnership aims to combine high-performance generative AI models with NTT DATA’s expertise in digital and IT services to create safe, private AI deployments for global businesses.

Mistral AI, a growing force in the generative AI space, is known for its open-weight, high-efficiency models. These will now be integrated with NTT DATA’s broad portfolio of AI and IT capabilities to deliver solutions that support strategic autonomy, particularly in sectors with strict regulatory requirements such as finance, insurance, defence, and the public sector.

Developing private AI solutions for regulated industries

The two companies will co-develop secure and sustainable private AI systems tailored for clients operating in sensitive environments. These will include full-stack AI solutions, from cloud infrastructure to business process applications, running on private clouds to ensure data control and security.

A key focus will be providing tools for sectors with stringent compliance needs. The combined offer will include AI-driven process automation, secure AI deployments, and industry-specific use cases, aimed at driving innovation without compromising privacy or control.

Enhancing infrastructure and customer experience

Mistral AI’s technologies will also be embedded into NTT DATA’s customer experience platforms, starting with the rollout of AI-driven call centre solutions in Europe and Asia Pacific. The companies may also work together on the development of large language models (LLMs) for specific markets or languages, supporting localisation and more relevant outcomes for end users.

To support this effort, NTT DATA will establish a Mistral AI Centre of Excellence, bringing together subject matter experts and dedicated implementation teams. Mistral AI will also introduce a technical enablement and certification programme to train NTT DATA employees on the use of its models and technologies.

Regional expansion and early projects

The partnership will initially target France, Luxembourg, Spain, Singapore and Australia. Dedicated sales teams in each market will work on go-to-market strategies that align with local dynamics, covering everything from custom AI use-case development to deployment and ongoing support.

One of the first projects under this partnership involves Dennemeyer, a global provider of intellectual property (IP) management services. Mistral AI and NTT DATA have been selected to co-develop an AI tool for advanced patent search and analysis. “Dennemeyer continues to be a driving force in the digital transformation of the IP industry; a key aspect of this is strong partnerships with organisations like Mistral AI and NTT DATA, who bring a deep technical understanding of AI and its integration into business processes,” said Brochmann Laurent, Global Chief Digital Officer, Dennemeyer.

Separately, NTT DATA Luxembourg and Mistral AI are co-developing a sovereign AI platform designed for financial services and insurance clients in Luxembourg. “This collaboration offers a landmark opportunity to accelerate the adoption of AI across the financial and insurance markets in Luxembourg and beyond,” said Olivier Posty, Head of France and Luxembourg, NTT DATA. “Together, we’re creating a full-stack platform that is ready to host critical financial applications.”

NTT DATA CEO and Chief AI Officer Abhijit Dubey highlighted the alignment between the two firms. “Collaborating with Mistral AI to bring trustworthy, impactful AI to market aligns with NTT DATA’s mission to accelerate client success and positively impact society through responsible innovation,” he said. “By joining forces with Mistral AI, we will harness the power of high-performing AI models combined with NTT DATA’s comprehensive AI capabilities, including our Smart AI Agent Ecosystem. In doing so, we can assure secure, scalable and sustainable deployments for enterprises across the globe.”

Arthur Mensch, CEO of Mistral AI, added, “By collaborating with a global leader in digital transformation like NTT DATA, we will bring our next-generation AI solutions into real-world business applications, with a strong focus on organisations that need the highest standards of data privacy in their AI journey.”
