Sharp launches new energy-efficient washing machines with no-holes tub technology

Sharp launches a new series of energy-efficient washing machines in Singapore, featuring exclusive no-holes tub technology and quiet performance.

Sharp has introduced a new range of energy-efficient top load washing machines in Singapore, showcasing its latest advancements in laundry care. The three new models — the 8.5kg ES-W85TWXT-SA2, 9.5kg ES-W95TWXT-SA2 and 10.5kg ES-W105TWXT-SA2 — feature Sharp’s exclusive No-Holes Tub Technology, designed to improve cleaning performance while protecting fabrics and conserving resources.

Smarter and more sustainable laundry

With over 30 years of research and development behind its No-Holes Tub concept, Sharp continues to refine its washing technology to meet the needs of modern households. Unlike traditional drums, these machines use a seamless design that prevents water from seeping out and reduces friction against clothing. This helps prevent mould and dirt buildup while reducing wear on fabrics. The design also keeps water inside the tub, cutting wastage.

All three models carry a four-tick energy efficiency rating and qualify for Singapore’s Climate Vouchers scheme. Sharp states that households can save up to 42% on energy and use 30% less water compared with conventional washing machines. The appliances are powered by J-Tech Inverter technology, which improves motor efficiency and lowers noise levels to as little as 42dB during spinning and 31dB while washing — quiet enough for night-time use.

Features inspired by everyday needs

The washing machines come with a range of practical features aimed at busy users. Quick Wash completes a cycle for lightly soiled clothes in just 20 minutes, while the Add Laundry function — available on the 9.5kg and 10.5kg models — allows users to pause and add forgotten items mid-cycle. The machine automatically adjusts water levels and extends wash time slightly to maintain cleaning quality.

Sharp has also incorporated design details inspired by marine life to improve water flow and fabric care. Whale-inspired fins generate powerful water movement in both directions, while dolphin-like textures reduce resistance to enhance washing without damaging clothes. Additional conveniences include eight wash programmes, an antibacterial coating on key plastic components and control panels, and a tempered glass lid with a soft-close mechanism.

Continuing a legacy of innovation

Sharp has sold more than 12 million No-Holes Tub washing machines in Japan since the technology was introduced in 1992. This latest range builds on that legacy, combining Japanese engineering with user-focused features aimed at energy efficiency and convenience. The machines reflect Sharp’s wider commitment to sustainable living and innovation in home appliances.

The new No-Holes Tub Top Load Washing Machines are available now at major retailers including Best Denki, Courts, Harvey Norman, Audiohouse, Gaincity and Mega Discount, as well as online through the Sharp e-store, Shopee and Lazada. Prices start at S$635 for the 8.5kg model, S$688 for the 9.5kg model and S$740 for the 10.5kg model.
