The launch will cover Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) in Wayfarer, Skyler and Headliner styles, alongside Oakley Meta HSTN and Vanguard. Pre-orders for those models start on 13 April through Ray-Ban stores, Oakley stores, EssilorLuxottica retail locations including Sunglass Hut, and authorised optical retail stores. EssilorLuxottica said further details on pricing, the full range of styles and the list of authorised retailers will be released on 20 April.
A broader glasses line-up
The Singapore rollout spans both lifestyle and performance-oriented models, with Ray-Ban Meta positioned around everyday use and Oakley Meta aimed more directly at movement and training.
Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) will launch in three core styles, all with 8 hours of battery life, an ultra-wide 12MP camera for 3K ultra HD photos and videos, and upgraded immersive audio. EssilorLuxottica said the line will also be offered across a broader mix of frame and lens combinations, including sun, clear, polarised and Transitions Gen S options.
The company is also extending the Ray-Ban Meta range for prescription wearers. Ray-Ban Meta Blayzer Optics (Gen 2) and Scriber Optics (Gen 2) will arrive in Singapore from May, adding two optical-first styles with slimmer frames, interchangeable nose pads, adjustable temple tips and overextension hinges with an additional 10° of rotation. Both models also include a dedicated action button for Meta AI.
That gives the launch a wider retail spread than a single product drop. Instead of centring only on sunglasses, the line-up is being brought in across sun and optical formats, with different frame types and fitting options aimed at different use cases.
Oakley moves into performance wearables
Oakley Meta enters the market with HSTN and Vanguard, two models built around sports and outdoor use. EssilorLuxottica described them as performance AI glasses designed for movement, endurance and real-time data.
Oakley Meta HSTN combines a built-in 3K Ultra HD camera with open-ear speakers and carries an IPX4 water resistance rating. Selected pairs also come with Oakley PRIZM lens technology, which the company said is designed to enhance vision and contrast across different lighting and weather conditions.
Oakley Meta Vanguard moves further into athletic use. The model includes Oakley PRIZM lenses, a 12MP ultra-wide camera with a 122° field of view, high-decibel open-ear speakers and wind noise reduction aimed at running, cycling and outdoor training. EssilorLuxottica said the frame is compatible with cycling helmets and hats, and carries an IP67 water and dust resistance rating for harsher conditions.
Singapore launch sets the regional starting point
The companies are framing Singapore as the regional entry point for the category. In the release, EssilorLuxottica said the market would be the first in Southeast Asia to receive the latest Ray-Ban Meta and Oakley Meta AI glasses.
“We are excited to expand the AI glasses category into Southeast Asia, starting with Singapore. As one of the world’s most AI-advanced economies with a thriving tech ecosystem, Singapore is well-positioned to adopt innovative technologies that can enhance daily living. Together with Meta, we are inviting people to experience how they can connect with the world and others more seamlessly and effortlessly, from capturing photos and video hands-free to measuring sports performance in real-time. This launch will offer a wide range of AI glasses in sun and optical to fit different lifestyles and needs, we encourage everyone to try on a pair and feel the difference,” said Denis Chng, Country Manager, Malaysia and Singapore at EssilorLuxottica.
The company also states that Ray-Ban Meta has sold millions of units worldwide, with the Singapore launch marking the next stage of the companies’ international expansion in Southeast Asia.
Meta echoed that regional significance in its own comments. “Every generation, computing gets closer to us — from mainframes to desktops to smartphones. Now, AI meets you at eye level. We are building personal superintelligence for everyone, and glasses are the ideal way to experience it because they understand your context in real-time. We are excited for Singapore to be the first in Southeast Asia to experience this new chapter,” said Nicole Tan, Managing Director, Meta Singapore.
