Sony’s latest REON POCKET wearables focus on making personal cooling easier to wear
Sony’s REON POCKET PRO Plus and REON POCKET 6 add stronger cooling, redesigned neckbands, and adjustable airflow.
Wearable cooling has a practical constraint. It has to stay in contact with the body, work across different clothing styles, and remain simple to control when users are commuting, walking, or moving between work settings. Sony’s latest REON POCKET devices address those limits through stronger cooling, redesigned neckbands, and more adjustable airflow.

Sony has launched the REON POCKET PRO Plus as the new flagship model in its wearable thermo device series, alongside the REON POCKET 6, the sixth-generation standard model. Both devices are worn at the back of the neck and directly cool or warm the body surface at the point of contact.
Cooling performance depends on fit
The REON POCKET PRO Plus carries the larger performance claim. Sony says the device delivers up to 20% higher cooling performance than the previous model, driven by a new cooling algorithm and a high-efficiency thermal design. In SMART COOL mode, it can reduce body surface temperature by up to an additional 2°C.
That claim is based on the cooling surface temperature after 10 minutes in a resting state at an ambient temperature of 35°C. Actual performance will vary by environment and usage, making the fit and venting changes as important as the cooling module itself.
The REON POCKET 6 uses a newly developed Compact DUAL Thermo Module. It adopts the same dual-module architecture as the flagship model, with two independent thermo modules operating alternately at different intensities to prolong the sensation of cooling. Sony says the new algorithm improves cooling performance by up to 2°C while keeping the overall body size similar to the previous model.
The redesign tackles daily wear issues
Both models introduce a redesigned neckband using Sony’s Adaptive Hold Design. On the REON POCKET PRO Plus, Sony says increasing the diameter of the mechanical flexible tubing improves holding force by approximately 40% compared with the conventional neckband. The goal is to keep the device in secure contact with the body during walking or light activity without making it uncomfortable.
The REON POCKET 6 applies the same design direction in a more compact form. Its neckband uses a larger mechanical tube for better flexibility, allowing the device to track user movement more smoothly. Soft silicone supporters at the tips are intended to improve comfort during longer wear.
Sony has also reworked the air vent cover. Instead of a fixed exhaust shape, the new design allows users to extend, retract, and adjust the angle of the airflow outlet. This is relevant for a device designed to sit under or near clothing, where collar height, shirt type, and neck shape can affect heat dissipation.
The REON POCKET 6 also adds direct buttons on the side of the unit. Users can power the device on or off, switch modes, and select temperature levels without using a smartphone. That gives the standard model a more practical control option for commuting or workplace use.
Sensors remain part of the system
The REON POCKET TAG 2 is bundled with the REON POCKET PRO Plus kit. The wearable sensing device measures ambient temperature and humidity, and is approximately 18% smaller than its predecessor. Sony has replaced the rear clip with a strap hole and includes a carabiner, allowing it to be attached to items such as bags or belt loops.
The original REON POCKET TAG remains compatible with both the REON POCKET PRO Plus and REON POCKET 6. That gives existing users a way to keep using the rear clip design if they prefer it.
Pricing and availability
The REON POCKET PRO Plus and REON POCKET 6 will be available from 12 May 2026 through Sony Stores and Sony Store Online. The REON POCKET PRO Plus retails at S$349, while the REON POCKET 6 retails at S$299.
From 12 May to 30 June 2026, My Sony Rewards Members can get S$30 off both models, bringing the REON POCKET PRO Plus to S$319 and the REON POCKET 6 to S$269. Sony is also offering a bundle deal for the REON POCKET 6 and REON POCKET PRO Plus at S$518, compared with the usual price of S$648.
