Splunk launches advanced observability and security solutions for Microsoft Azure customers

Splunk and Microsoft launch native solutions on Azure, enhancing digital transformation with AI-powered observability and security tools.

Splunk, a global leader in cybersecurity and observability, has announced the general availability of its enterprise security, observability, and platform solutions on Microsoft Azure. This partnership aims to accelerate organisations’ digital transformation journeys while improving security resilience through unified, scalable solutions.

Tom Casey, Senior Vice President of Splunk Products & Technology Group, stated, “Splunk’s strategic partnership with Microsoft to build Splunk natively on Azure demonstrates our commitment to advancing digital resilience to help our customers and partners remain secure and up and running at every step of their cloud journey.” He added that the collaboration integrates enterprise data to deliver robust hybrid-cloud solutions that align with organisations’ digital transformation strategies.

Solutions powered by Splunk AI enhance performance and security

The launch includes Splunk Cloud Platform, Splunk Enterprise Security, and Splunk IT Service Intelligence, all built natively on Microsoft Azure. Powered by Splunk AI, these solutions provide comprehensive visibility, rapid threat detection, and optimised responses to ensure agility and flexibility in software-as-a-service (SaaS) offerings.

By leveraging Splunk on Microsoft Azure, customers gain access to data-driven insights that enhance innovation, strengthen security, and improve infrastructure and application performance. Existing Splunk customers can migrate their on-premises or self-managed cloud deployments to Azure, allowing organisations to focus on critical initiatives rather than managing infrastructure. Customers with a Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitment (MACC) can also utilise their commitment toward Splunk services.

Key benefits of Splunk on Azure

The deployment of Splunk solutions on Azure offers several significant advantages for customers:

  • Simplified administration: Splunk manages the IT backend, enabling organisations to focus on data insights and exploring new use cases.
  • Reduced infrastructure requirements: Splunk-provisioned infrastructure delivers a scalable, turnkey cloud-based data analytics solution.
  • Lower total cost of ownership (TCO): Organisations save on administrative, overhead, and private data centre costs while reducing public cloud expenses like egress and ingress fees.
  • Enhanced security: Customers benefit from consistent software updates to strengthen their security postures.

Industry leaders emphasise innovation and digital resilience

Deb Cupp, President of Microsoft Americas, commented on the partnership, saying, “Accelerating the outcomes and opportunity of AI is essential to meeting the needs of customers across the globe. Splunk and Microsoft share a commitment to help organisations succeed in the AI era. Our partnership empowers rapid innovation that supports our joint customers’ journey to expedite digital resilience and drive success.”

Michelle Abraham, Research Director of Security and Trust at IDC, added, “The Splunk and Microsoft alliance helps large organisations with complex IT stacks scale their AI transformation efforts and deliver visibility across data sources to ensure enterprise resiliency. As trusted innovators, Splunk and Microsoft provide customers with the ability to unlock value by simplifying infrastructure requirements, improving security, and decreasing the total cost of ownership.”

This collaboration highlights Splunk’s and Microsoft’s dedication to supporting businesses in their digital and AI transformation, helping them innovate securely at scale.
