Synology showcases full suite of data management innovations at COMPUTEX 2025

Synology debuts new enterprise storage, cloud surveillance, and personal cloud solutions at COMPUTEX 2025.

Synology has unveiled a comprehensive range of new data management solutions at COMPUTEX 2025 in Taipei, targeting enterprise users, professionals, and families alike with upgrades in storage, protection, productivity, and surveillance.

Chairman and CEO Philip Wong stated, “At Synology, our goal has always been to build a data management ecosystem our customers can trust. We design our solutions to offer not only unparalleled ease of use, but also industry-leading security, reliability, and data privacy, empowering both organisations and individuals to manage their data with confidence.”

Enterprise storage and protection upgrades

Headlining the announcements is the PAS7700, Synology’s latest flagship in enterprise storage. Built with a dual-controller, active-active architecture, the PAS7700 is designed for mission-critical workloads, ensuring non-disruptive service continuity. The system includes built-in 3-2-1-1 data replication for robust backup redundancy, reinforcing data integrity and protection.

Performance-wise, the PAS7700 makes a significant leap with an all-NVMe design, enabling up to 2 million IOPS and sub-millisecond latency. Synology claims this results in up to three times the performance of its previous storage models, paired with strong cost efficiency for demanding business environments.

In parallel, Synology has expanded its data protection line with the DP7200 appliance, part of the ActiveProtect family. The DP7200 can be used as a standalone backup server in branch offices or as a central management system (CMS) host in headquarters. With support for immutable backups and network isolation, the system is designed to resist cyber threats and guarantee clean recovery options across diverse environments.

Cloud-based video surveillance and productivity tools

Further enhancing its surveillance portfolio, Synology introduced C2 Surveillance, a cloud-based video management system (VMS) tailored for large-scale, multi-site operations. Designed for fast deployment, the system supports centralised cloud management, Windows Active Directory integration, and role-based permissions, making it suitable for distributed teams.

C2 Surveillance enables continuous local edge recording and includes an offline failover mode to ensure uninterrupted video monitoring, even during internet outages. This addition complements Synology’s existing ecosystem of IP cameras, NVRs, AI analytics, and cloud backup.

On the productivity front, Synology launched two new applications—ChatPlus and Synology Meet. ChatPlus is aimed at secure, team-based communication with features like granular permission settings and advanced channel management. Meanwhile, Synology Meet introduces enterprise-grade video conferencing, all hosted on Synology’s private cloud platform to ensure full data control and privacy.

Private cloud and smart home solutions for families

Synology also announced BeeStation Plus, a private cloud solution tailored for households. It supports automatic backup of iCloud Photo Libraries and is compatible with Plex Media Server for streaming videos directly from the device. In addition, snapshot-based local recovery and BeeProtect offsite cloud backup capabilities are included to secure personal media and important files.

When connected with Synology’s CC400W camera, BeeStation Plus becomes a smart home surveillance hub. A new mobile app enables intelligent monitoring, including human presence detection, pet activity, ambient sound tracking, and tampering alerts. The system delivers real-time notifications, helping users stay aware of daily home activities.

BeeStation Plus blends personal cloud storage with family-oriented features, bridging convenience, security, and multimedia access in a single platform.
