This tiny and affordable device upgrades any speaker with Wi-Fi streaming and hi-res audio

The Atonemo Streamplayer is a tiny, affordable device that adds Wi-Fi streaming and hi-res audio support to any speaker with a 3.5mm aux port.

If you have a great sound system that lacks modern streaming features, the Atonemo Streamplayer could be the perfect solution. This small, budget-friendly device adds high-resolution streaming capabilities to almost any speaker and supports a 3.5mm aux connection.

A smart upgrade for any speaker

Atonemo CEO Leo Ballesteros says the Streamplayer was designed to fix “a huge problem” in the audio industry. “Why was there no way to make any speaker smart? The way an Apple TV makes any TV smart?” he asked.

While similar devices have been available, such as the WiiM Pro, Audio Pro Link2, and the older Yamaha WX-AD10, the Atonemo Streamplayer stands out with its affordability, flexibility, and high-quality streaming support.

Atonemo stream player: key features

One of the Streamplayer’s biggest advantages is that it doesn’t lock you into a specific ecosystem or force you to rely on a single manufacturer’s app. Instead, it supports both AirPlay 2 and Google Cast, making it compatible with iOS and Android devices. You can use your favourite streaming app to send music directly to the device without a separate control app. Additionally, the Streamplayer works with Spotify Connect and Tidal Connect for seamless playback.

Regarding specifications, the Streamplayer features Wi-Fi 6 for faster and more reliable connectivity, Bluetooth LE Audio with Auracast, and a standard USB-C port for power. It also supports lossless audio streaming up to 24-bit/192kHz, though the quality will depend on your chosen streaming service.

Ballesteros emphasises that Streamplayer allows people to use the speakers they love without worrying about connectivity issues or being tied to a particular brand. If it delivers on its promises, it could be a simple and effective way to bring modern features to traditional stereo speakers.

The Atonemo Streamplayer will launch this spring for US$99.
