TikTok is placing professional Creator Networks at the heart of its LIVE strategy as livestreaming transitions into a more structured entertainment industry. These specialised networks are playing an increasingly prominent role in training creators, managing content production, and scaling monetisation across the platform. At the TikTok LIVE Creator Network Global Summit 2026, the company demonstrated the scale of this shift, revealing that over 240 million creators went LIVE globally during 2025, which represents nearly double the figure from the previous year.

Audience engagement has scaled alongside creator participation, with TikTok confirming that billions of viewers now tune into LIVE content every year. Broadened participation means roughly one in 30 TikTok users now streams LIVE, a significant rise from one in 77 recorded three years ago. This internal growth aligns with wider trends across the global livestreaming entertainment market, where research from Kearney featured in the report projects that the market outside China will expand past US$200 billion by 2030.

By delivering an array of services including creator recruitment, structured training, production assistance, audience development, and monetisation guidance, Creator Networks are establishing a more organised infrastructure around talent that once operated independently. This operational shift spurred immense growth in 2025, when more than 21,000 Creator Networks were active worldwide, marking a nearly threefold surge year on year. As a direct result of this agency expansion, the total number of creators receiving network support almost doubled within the same timeframe, climbing from 2.4 million to 4.7 million.

Southeast Asia maintained its status as the primary hub for this ecosystem by hosting approximately one quarter of all global Creator Networks. The region also accounted for about one third of all network-supported creators globally. Following Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Türkiye represented 20% of supported creators, whereas Europe claimed 15%. Europe nevertheless experienced the fastest agency expansion in 2025, growing 2.7 times, while other major markets expanded by at least 1.5 times.

Commercial returns surged alongside this physical expansion. TikTok reported that overall Creator Network revenue grew 1.8 times, matching a 1.8 times increase in the number of networks earning more than US$1 million annually. The Americas led the momentum for high-earning agencies, recording the fastest year-on-year growth rate for networks crossing the US$1 million mark at 2.3 times.

Network-supported creators generate a larger share of revenue

Platform data indicates that professional management exerts a disproportionately powerful influence on creator output and financial success. Although Creator Networks represent only around 2% of the creator population on TikTok LIVE, these managed creators generate 36% of all gifting revenue produced on the platform.

This revenue advantage is matched by higher activity levels across the board. Managed creators broadcast 20% more frequently throughout 2025, logged twice as many streaming hours on average, and proved 10 times more likely to reach established reward tiers than their independent peers. Retention metrics demonstrate a similar divide, as one-day and 30-day retention rates for network-managed talent were more than 20 percentage points higher than those of unrepresented creators. These outcomes reinforce TikTok's argument that structured assistance with content creation, production logistics, and commercial strategy yields substantial operational benefits.

Despite this proven impact, the network model still possesses considerable headroom for future expansion. Over 98% of creators currently operate outside of Creator Networks, leaving the vast majority of TikTok LIVE broadcasters without access to formal management.

Different types of operators are entering the market

Rather than mandating a single rigid template, TikTok encourages a diverse landscape of network models. The ecosystem encompasses businesses founded by former creators, established e-commerce firms expanding their talent divisions, international networks entering new territories, and hyper-local specialists.

A case study from Japan highlights the strength of the creator-led approach. Anonymised by TikTok as Creator Network E, this market-leading revenue generator was established by a former livestream broadcaster. The company integrates standard LIVE operations with creative production, live events, e-commerce, and multi-platform media activities. This trajectory demonstrates how hands-on broadcasting experience can evolve into a full-scale media enterprise when combined with structured talent coaching and commercial planning.

Local operational focus is equally vital across other key regions. In Vietnam, Creator Network S manages over 50,000 LIVE creators globally while employing nearly 300 staff members, primarily based in its local market. Its facilities include an offline physical studio alongside comprehensive training programmes covering personal branding and talent development. Similarly, an anonymised network operating in the Middle East and North Africa has scaled into a 23-person team after joining TikTok LIVE in late 2022, using a blend of online and offline recruitment alongside continuous coaching.

These varied operations illustrate TikTok's belief that deep localisation will prove essential as Creator Networks scale globally. While business models inevitably differ across territories, every successful framework remains grounded in building structured, dedicated support systems around individual creators.

Group LIVE adds more structured programming

TikTok is also promoting format innovation through Group LIVE, a feature where multiple creators stream simultaneously under a single username. This collaborative option expanded rapidly during 2025 and sustained its growth momentum throughout the first half of 2026.

Both the total volume of Group LIVE broadcasts and the average duration of each stream increased over this period, signalling a transition toward more varied, format-driven programming. TikTok expects these interactive, co-hosted broadcasts to play an increasingly important role in attracting and retaining audiences as LIVE content grows more professional. Ultimately, multi-creator broadcasts add a dynamic layer to livestreaming that extends well beyond traditional individual streaming.

TikTok is building more infrastructure around networks

To manage this rapid organisational expansion, TikTok is deploying a more formalised operational framework for its partners. The LIVE Backstage platform equips networks with management and creator support tools, while the TikTok Health Score introduces a points-based system to track compliance and operational performance.

Enforcement under the Health Score ranges from simple warnings and reduced financial rewards to complete account termination. Conversely, eligible networks meeting key benchmarks can access growth incentives such as performance bonuses, traffic promotion, and supplementary operational resources. TikTok has paired these initiatives with a Creator Network Code of Conduct that defines clear behavioural standards for service providers in their interactions with creators.

Because networks already generate a disproportionately large share of platform gifting revenue relative to their creator count, TikTok's long-term strategy is becoming tightly linked with these management businesses. As this ecosystem matures globally, Southeast Asia's established scale positions the region as a major central pillar of TikTok's livestreaming future.
