vivo launches X Fold5 foldable phone in Singapore with ZEISS camera and AI tools

vivo launches X Fold5 in Singapore with ZEISS camera, 6000 mAh battery, and AI productivity tools. Pre-orders start at S$2,199.

vivo has unveiled the X Fold5, its most advanced foldable smartphone to date, combining a lightweight build, AI-powered productivity features, and a ZEISS co-engineered camera system. The new device will be available in Singapore from 8 August, priced at S$2,499.

Weighing just 217g, the X Fold5 is lighter than many conventional flagship smartphones, yet offers a durable design with water, dust, and temperature resistance. It features vivo’s brightest foldable display to date and introduces several tools aimed at improving productivity and creativity for users on the move.

Sleek design with strong performance and battery life

The X Fold5 adopts a slim, pocket-friendly design that folds down to just 0.92cm in thickness. Despite its size, it houses an equivalent 6000 mAh BlueVolt battery based on semi-solid state technology, which offers better energy efficiency and reliability. It supports both 80W Dual-Cell FlashCharge and Wireless FlashCharge, allowing users to power up quickly throughout the day.

A redesigned aerospace-grade hinge ensures smooth folding with minimal screen creasing, and has been tested to withstand 600,000 folds. The phone is rated IPX8 and IPX9 for water resistance, IP5X for dust resistance, and remains functional in temperatures as low as -20°C. These features make it suitable for professionals navigating diverse environments.

Enhanced viewing and pro-level photography

Both the 8.03-inch main display and the 6.53-inch cover screen deliver up to 4500 nits local peak brightness, making the X Fold5 vivo’s brightest foldable yet. The displays also feature 2K+ resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and Dolby Vision for a rich and smooth visual experience.

On the imaging front, vivo continues its strategic partnership with ZEISS, integrating professional-grade cameras into the foldable form. The X Fold5 is equipped with three 50MP cameras: a ZEISS telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom, a main camera with Sony IMX921 sensor, and an ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree field of view. ZEISS T* coating reduces flare and improves colour fidelity, while AI enhancements sharpen images at high zoom levels.

“ZEISS Look” imaging and a versatile lens setup position the device as a top-tier option for photography enthusiasts and content creators alike.

AI tools and multitasking features for productivity

A suite of AI-powered tools has been introduced to support productivity and multitasking. Origin Workbench allows users to operate up to five apps at once in split-screen mode, enhancing efficiency without switching devices. vivo DocMaster enables users to annotate PDFs, convert documents between formats, and access AI writing tools directly within files.

Smart Call Assistant and AI Transcript Assist support real-time transcription, summaries, and language translation. Users can also access Google’s Gemini AI assistant to plan events, draft messages, and manage tasks more intuitively.

The phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform, offering a 30% improvement in CPU performance, 25% boost in GPU performance, and 20% increase in power efficiency over its predecessor. It comes with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage for responsive app performance and fast file access.

Pre-order and availability details

The vivo X Fold5 will be available in Singapore starting 8 August 2025 in Titanium Grey. Customers who pre-order from 31 July to 7 August at a discounted price of S$2,199 will receive additional gifts worth S$688, including a S$300 handset discount (already included in the pre-order price), a vivo Watch GT, vivo Buds, two years of global warranty, and three months of screen protection.

Pre-orders can be made on Shopee, Lazada, TikTok, and through authorised retailers such as Challenger, Best Denki, Courts, Gain City, Popular, and Harvey Norman. The phone will also be available through Singtel and M1.
