Beats introduces redesigned Powerbeats Fit with improved comfort and secure fit

Beats launches the Powerbeats Fit with a redesigned wing tip for better comfort, secure fit, and 30-hour battery life.

Beats has unveiled the Powerbeats Fit, a refreshed version of the Fit Pro wireless earbuds first released in late 2021. The most significant change is a newly engineered wing tip that the company says is 20% more flexible, offering greater comfort while ensuring a secure fit. According to Beats, the updated design provides stability comparable to the over-ear hook found on the Powerbeats Pro 2, while keeping the earbuds at a lower price point of under US$200.

The Powerbeats Fit are now available to purchase through Apple’s online store, Amazon, and Best Buy. They are priced at US$199.99 and come in four colours: jet black, gravel grey, power pink, and spark orange. For those who recently switched to the cosmic orange iPhone 17 Pro, the spark orange version has been described as a natural match.

Features for Apple and Android users

While the Powerbeats Fit carry the new name, they still use Apple’s H1 chip rather than the more advanced H2 chip found in the latest Powerbeats Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3. Even so, users benefit from one-touch pairing, hands-free Siri, Find My tracking, and seamless syncing across Apple devices via iCloud.

For Android users, the Beats app provides convenient features including one-touch pairing, location tracking, a Fit Test to determine the ideal ear tip size, and customisable controls. These additions help make the earbuds a flexible option regardless of device preference.

The redesign is not radical, but Beats has made practical improvements to usability. The charging case has been reduced in size by 17%, making it easier to carry in a pocket without compromising performance. Battery life remains consistent, offering up to seven hours of playback on a single charge or 30 hours when combined with the charging case. With active noise cancellation enabled, the earbuds provide up to six hours of use, extending to 24 hours when paired with the case.

Sound quality and durability

The Powerbeats Fit maintain the same IPX4 rating for sweat and water resistance as the previous model, making them suitable for workouts but not for full immersion in water. The active noise cancellation does not quite match the standard set by the AirPods Pro 3, but the earbuds include several advanced features to enhance the listening experience. These include transparency mode, adaptive EQ, and personalised Spatial Audio with head tracking, which adjusts sound output depending on fit, seal, and background noise.

Overall, the Powerbeats Fit are not a complete overhaul of the Fit Pro, but the adjustments to comfort, stability, and portability make them an appealing choice for users seeking performance-focused earbuds at a price just below that of the flagship alternatives.
