HONOR Magic V6 to launch in Singapore with durability-focused foldable design
HONOR Magic V6 launches in Singapore on 4 June with durability claims across its hinge, displays, and water resistance.
HONOR will launch the HONOR Magic V6 in Singapore on 4 June 2026, with the foldable flagship centred on hinge strength, display protection, and water resistance.

Ahead of the launch, the company staged a series of controlled durability demonstrations at SkyPark Regional Aviation Centre. The HONOR Magic V6 set a new ASIA Record for the “Heaviest Aircraft Towed by a Foldable Smartphone” after towing a 1.25-tonne Diamond DA42 aircraft across 150 metres using only its hinge mechanism.
The aircraft tow was supported by two further demonstrations, including a 30-metre Ferrari sports car pull and a pull-up bar test using the foldable device. HONOR said the phone remained fully operational after all three tests, with no visible damage to the display or frame.
Hinge strength is central to the device’s positioning
The durability claims centre on the new HONOR Super Steel Hinge, which is rated at 2,800 MPa tensile strength. HONOR said the hinge has completed 500,000 folding-cycle tests, which it describes as equivalent to more than 13 years of daily use.
The HONOR Magic V6 also uses an AI-assisted bionic cushioning system designed to disperse impact forces across the chassis and protect internal components. The added protection sits within an ultra-thin foldable design, with the device measuring 8.75mm when folded.
These claims are important because foldable phones are still judged heavily on long-term structural confidence. For HONOR, the Magic V6 launch is less about using the aircraft tow as a headline stunt and more about reinforcing durability as a practical buyer concern.
Display protection extends across the outer and inner screens
The outer display uses HONOR Anti-Scratch Nano Crystal Shield, which features a 5,600-layer silicon nitride coating. Compared with the HONOR Magic V5, HONOR claims the display delivers 10x improved drop resistance, 15x improved scratch resistance, and 3x improved anti-reflection performance.
The external screen has also undergone 27,000 cycles of steel-wool abrasion testing. During the showcase, HONOR demonstrated the outer display with an electric hand scrubber machine, adding another visual proof point to its durability claims.
The inner display uses HONOR Magic Diamond Screen technology with Ultra-Thin Glass. HONOR said the display is designed to minimise visible creasing while improving long-term structural stability. It has received SGS 5-Star Reliability Low Reflectivity Certification and TÜV Rheinland 24-hour Battery Life Certification, alongside a No.1 ranking in wear resistance performance.
Water and dust resistance are also part of the durability pitch. The HONOR Magic V6 is the company’s first foldable smartphone to receive both IP68 and IP69 ratings, with the device able to withstand water depths of up to 1.5 metres.
