LG Electronics has joined the NVIDIA Partner Network as a Power and Cooling Solution Preferred Partner, adding its liquid cooling systems to NVIDIA’s partner programme for high-density AI data centres. To support these demanding facilities, the company has completed NVIDIA qualification for several coolant distribution units, including a 2.6-megawatt model. Looking ahead, LG plans to seek qualification for an even larger 4.0MW system by the end of 2026.
LG expands its qualified cooling portfolio
LG’s 2.6MW coolant distribution unit, or CDU, has qualified as an NVIDIA DSX Ready CDU. According to LG, this system possesses the largest cooling capacity among current DSX Ready CDU partners, based on the NVIDIA marketplace at the time cited by the company. Its 600kW and 1MW CDUs have also completed NVIDIA infrastructure qualification, satisfying criteria that evaluate cooling performance, failover capabilities and reliability. Furthermore, LG plans to pursue NVIDIA qualification for its 4.0MW CDU by the end of 2026, extending its range of liquid cooling systems for AI data centres.
The company is designing its data centre cooling systems for integration during the early stages of facility planning. This approach allows cooling systems and supporting infrastructure to be considered as part of the overall facility design.
Liquid cooling works alongside existing systems
To handle elevated temperatures at the component level, LG’s CDUs utilise direct-to-chip liquid cooling, which delivers coolant directly to CPUs, GPUs and other components that generate heat. These units are purposefully engineered to operate alongside existing air-cooling infrastructure, ensuring that facilities can support denser computing architectures without abandoning conventional setups. Through this complementary approach, combining liquid and air cooling allows data centres to manage the higher thermal loads associated with AI computing equipment.

Qualified systems to be shown in Singapore
LG will showcase its NVIDIA-qualified coolant distribution units at Data Centre World Asia 2026, taking place from 29 to 30 September at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. The display will feature CDUs that have completed NVIDIA AI infrastructure qualification, drawn from the company’s growing liquid cooling portfolio.
