First introduced at IFA 2022, LG Electronics (Singapore) today announced the launch of the world’s first bendable 42-inch OLED TV – the LG OLED Flex. The LG OLED Flex is a lifestyle screen that enhances viewing experiences for users who enjoy live TV broadcasts and content streaming services, as well as immersive console, PC, and cloud gaming. This revolutionary product is a testament to the company’s continual commitment to developing innovative products that stand out in today’s saturated home entertainment market.

The LG OLED Flex display can transform an utterly flat screen into a dramatically curved one, allowing individuals to customize their perfect arc with a simple button on the remote control. Users can easily adjust the screen’s curvature to one of the two presets available or manually change the degree of flexure in five percent increments over 20 different levels. The height-adjustable stand can be moved up or down by 140 millimetres, be tilted up to a 10-degree angle or moved to a maximum of 5 degrees away from the user – guaranteeing optimal ergonomic comfort for all.

Upping the ante with latest OLED technology

The brand’s state-of-the-art backlight-free, self-lit OLED technology amplifies the progressive form factor of the LG OLED Flex. The infinite contrast, deep blacks, and highly-accurate colours (100 percent colour fidelity certified2 ) make game graphics look hyper-realistic. A swift 0.1 millisecond response time and low input lag also allows LG OLED Flex users to be fully immersed in the gaming experience. Regardless of the degree of curvature, the LG OLED evo technology-equipped screen delivers indistinguishable, exceptional picture quality and performance that have made LG OLED a prime choice among consumers internationally.

Besides being powered by an α (Alpha) 9 Gen 5 intelligent processor and distinctive picture algorithms, the LG OLED Flex also reduces eye strain with its multiple flickerfree, glare-free certifications. The OLED screen provides relieving visual comfort and allows users to enjoy extended gaming sessions and binge-watch their favourite shows without experiencing eye fatigue. The application of LG’s super anti-reflection (SAR) coating also aids in reducing any visual distractions by 25% fewer reflections than previous OLED TV models so that users can focus entirely on the display on the screen.

Enjoy next-level gaming immersion

Supported for Dolby Vision gaming at 4K 120Hz and boosted by the latest HDMI 2.1 features such as variable refresh rate (VRR) and auto low latency mode (ALLM), the LG OLED Flex is also G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium certified, ensuring tear- and stutter-free visuals that help bring entertainment on-screen to life.

Offering a plethora of exclusive features and functions that give gamers more significant control over their gaming experiences, the LG OLED Flex image resize feature is accessed easily from the handy Gaming Dashboard menu. Gamers can select from the position high, low, or centred of the smaller image on the screen.

Depending on their preferences or the genre of game they are playing, users can toggle between the sizes of the onscreen image to best suit their needs. For instance, fans of roleplaying games (RPGs), racing games or platformers would likely make use of the full 42- inches of the screen, while real-time strategy (RTS) or first-person shooter (FPS) gamers 3 LG OLED panels are certified Flicker-Free and Discomfort Glare Free by UL 4 Reflections was reduced by 25% compared to LG OLED G2 and C2 during in-house tests may choose a smaller screen estate setting that allows them to see the overall picture at a glance.

Additionally, LG’s revamped Gaming Optimizer feature adds customized sound settings for specific game genres to the gamer-centric picture and audio options. It provides access to advanced audio settings, enabling users to tailor their gaming experience. Its dedicated game sound settings menu also includes an equalizer and switches for AI Game Sound and Dolby Atmos.

For today’s gamers and many tech-savvy users, multitasking is critical. The LG OLED Flex’s Multi-View mode allows individuals to view content from two sources concurrently while choosing from their preferred audio source. Productivity on the LG OLED Flex is unmatched as users can watch YouTube videos streamed from their smartphones while playing a PC or console game.

Apart from having superb picture quality, having clear and immersive sound is also an essential factor that gamers prioritize. Equipped with two front-firing 40W speakers, the LG OLED Flex further elevates the gaming and content-viewing experience. Furthermore, the LG OLED Flex offers a Switching Hub function – allowing users to use the built-in microphone and any devices connected via its USB ports, such as a headset, keyboard or mouse with a PC connected via an HDMI cable. Users can switch between device connections simply by pressing the source switching button on the side of the LG OLED Flex’s stand without having to disconnect or reconnect anything physically. The built-in microphone also boasts an effective echo-cancellation feature.

With cutting-edge design elements, the LG OLED Flex features futuristic customisable lighting on its ultra-thin shield-like exterior that synchronises the lighting with video or audio playing on the screen, with five modes for users to choose from.
