NETGEAR expands WiFi 7 range with new Orbi mesh system and Nighthawk router

NETGEAR introduces Orbi 770 mesh system and Nighthawk RS300 router with WiFi 7 for faster speeds and enhanced security.

NETGEAR, a leading provider of digital connectivity solutions, has expanded its WiFi 7 product range with the introduction of the Orbi 770 Tri-band Mesh System and the Nighthawk RS300 Router. These new devices offer faster speeds and enhanced performance, making high-quality WiFi 7 technology more accessible for a wider audience seeking reliable multi-gigabit internet connections.

Orbi 770 Series mesh system: Fast, future-proof performance

The Orbi 770 Tri-band Mesh System delivers fast and reliable WiFi 7 connectivity, with speeds of up to 11Gbps. It is designed for large homes and high-demand internet users, capable of handling up to 100 devices across homes as large as 8,000 square feet with the 3-pack setup.

By combining the 5GHz and 6GHz bands using Multi-Link Operation, the Orbi 770 enhances both the speed and reliability of connections. The 2.5 Gig internet port enables users to fully experience multi-gig speeds, future-proofing the system for next-generation entertainment, hybrid work environments, and upcoming tech. With multiple 2.5 Gig LAN ports on both the router and satellites, users can easily establish high-speed wired connections for devices such as gaming PCs or consoles.

The Orbi 770 also ensures broad and reliable coverage with four high-performance internal antennas, providing a strong signal regardless of home layout, from the front door to the backyard. The system uses preamble puncturing technology to block interference, ensuring that the connection remains stable and seamless.

The Nighthawk RS300 Tri-band router brings WiFi 7 technology to budget-conscious users without compromising on performance. With a top speed of 9.3Gbps, it provides coverage for homes up to 2,500 square feet and supports up to 100 devices. Like the Orbi 770, the RS300 features a 2.5 Gig internet port, allowing users to access the latest multi-gig speeds. Additionally, it has two 2.5 Gig LAN ports and two 1 Gig LAN ports for fast wired connections, ideal for latency-sensitive devices such as gaming consoles.

The RS300’s sleek design incorporates omni-directional internal antennas, which improve coverage and signal range across the home. With WiFi 7, the router provides speeds that are 2.4 times faster than WiFi 6, thanks to features such as ultra-wide 320MHz high-capacity channels and 4K QAM. This advanced performance ensures a smooth, uninterrupted experience for high-bandwidth activities like gaming and streaming.

Advanced security with NETGEAR Armor and Advanced Router Protection

Both the Orbi 770 and Nighthawk RS300 come equipped with cutting-edge security features, including automatic firmware updates, WPA3 encryption, and VPN support. In addition, they offer NETGEAR Armor, powered by Bitdefender, which provides comprehensive protection for all devices connected to the network. Armor includes features such as threat detection, privacy protection, and ad-blocking, all built directly into the router, eliminating the need for additional software or subscriptions.

The Orbi 770 series introduces an extra layer of security with the new Advanced Router Protection feature. This innovative security measure helps protect the router from both known and unknown cyber threats. By using AI and advanced exploit prevention, it can block malicious activity in real time, offering live patches for emerging threats without needing to wait for a firmware update. Developed in partnership with Bitdefender, this feature will be rolled out across the WiFi 7 lineup later this year, further enhancing security for all users.

Availability and pricing

The NETGEAR Orbi 770 Series is available now on NETGEAR’s website and through major retailers. Prices for the Orbi 770 series are as follows:
