Nintendo reveals new Switch 2 bundles ahead of price increase
Nintendo announces new Switch 2 bundles for Mario Kart World and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort ahead of a US$50 price rise.
Nintendo has announced two new Nintendo Switch 2 bundles as it prepares to raise the price of its latest console in the US. The new packages include a Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle and an updated version of the existing Mario Kart World bundle, with both set to include 90 days of individual Nintendo Switch Online membership.

The announcements come shortly before the Switch 2’s price rises from US$450 to US$500 on 1 September. The revised Mario Kart World package will also see its price increase, while the new Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle is scheduled to launch later in October alongside the game.
Mario Kart World bundle gets a new price
The updated Nintendo Switch 2 and Mario Kart World bundle will cost US$550 when it arrives in late September. That is US$50 more than the original bundle, reflecting the upcoming US$50 increase to the standard Switch 2 console price.
The revised package will include digital copies of Mario Kart World and 90 days of individual Nintendo Switch Online membership. The original Mario Kart World bundle did not include the online subscription, making the new version slightly more valuable despite its higher overall price.
Nintendo says the refreshed package will represent a US$38 saving compared with purchasing the console, game and Nintendo Switch Online membership separately after the price increase takes effect. However, consumers buying the existing console and game before 1 September can currently spend less.
At present, the Switch 2 costs US$450, while Mario Kart World is priced at US$80. Buying those separately comes to US$530, which is US$20 less than the upcoming bundle. Adding three months of Nintendo Switch Online would bring the total to roughly US$538, still US$12 below the new package price.
Consumers looking for longer access to Nintendo’s online service could also choose a one-year Nintendo Switch Online membership instead. At the same overall price as the refreshed bundle, that option would provide an additional nine months of membership beyond the three months included with the package.
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle arrives in October
Nintendo is also preparing a new Switch 2 bundle centred on Nintendo Switch Sports Resort. The package is scheduled to launch on 22 October, the same day the game becomes available.
The bundle will cost US$530 and will include the Switch 2 console, the game and 90 days of individual Nintendo Switch Online membership. Nintendo says the package offers a US$28 saving compared with purchasing the included products separately.
Based on the bundle pricing, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort itself will effectively account for US$50 of the package. As with the Mario Kart World bundle, the game will be provided digitally rather than as a physical copy.
The new package gives Nintendo another way to promote its latest console as the company moves into the second half of the Switch 2’s first year. Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is also expected to broaden the system’s appeal by offering a collection of sports-focused games designed for casual and family play.
The inclusion of Nintendo Switch Online access is another notable change in Nintendo’s current bundle strategy. Although 90 days is a relatively short subscription period, it gives new owners immediate access to the service without requiring a separate membership purchase.
Earlier Switch 2 game bundle is being phased out
Nintendo’s latest bundle announcements follow another package introduced in May. That earlier offer allowed customers to choose one of several games, including Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza or Pokémon Pokopia, with a Switch 2 console.
Nintendo described that offer as being available for a limited time. With the company now preparing its new pricing structure and launching additional bundles, the earlier package appears to be approaching the end of its availability.
The change reflects Nintendo’s wider effort to adjust its Switch 2 pricing and product offers. The console launched at US$450 in the US, but its price will rise by US$50 on 1 September, bringing the system to US$500 before any games or accessories are added.
The timing means customers considering a Switch 2 have a limited opportunity to purchase the console at its current price. Those who wait for the new bundles will receive additional content or subscription access, but the overall cost will also be higher.
Nintendo’s updated Mario Kart World bundle is expected in late September, followed by the Nintendo Switch Sports Resort bundle on 22 October. The two packages give prospective buyers more options, although customers focused purely on price may find that purchasing the current console and games before the increase remains the cheaper approach.
Nintendo is therefore entering the next phase of the Switch 2’s life with both higher hardware prices and a wider selection of bundled software. The company will rely on major games, online services, and new bundle offers to maintain interest in the console as its pricing changes take effect.
