SIAS celebrates corporate excellence at Investors’ Choice Awards 2025

[output_post_excerpt]

The Securities Investors Association (Singapore) (SIAS) will celebrate excellence in corporate governance, sustainability and transparency at the 2025 Investors’ Choice Awards (ICA), held at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore. The event will be officiated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry, Gan Kim Yong, and attended by more than 750 corporate leaders, regulators and investors.

Organised as part of SIAS’ annual Corporate Governance Week, the ICA honours organisations and individuals who demonstrate integrity, accountability and purpose in their leadership. This year’s theme, “SG60: Good Old Days, Great New Ways,” marks Singapore’s 60th anniversary by highlighting how innovation and sound governance continue to shape the nation’s progress.

Over 44 companies and individuals will be recognised across seven award categories, including the Singapore Corporate Governance Award, Corporate Sustainability Award, Outstanding CEO Award, Shareholder Communications Excellence Award, Best Retail Broker Award, Financial Journalist Award and Most Transparent Company Award. These awards aim to promote a culture of responsibility and stewardship across the corporate ecosystem.

Promoting integrity and responsible leadership

The ICA highlights the achievements of companies that integrate sustainability and transparency into their operations while maintaining strong governance frameworks. It also acknowledges the contributions of individuals who advance investor education, financial literacy and ethical leadership. Categories such as the Financial Journalist Award and Best Retail Broker Award recognise those who enhance investor confidence and understanding through professionalism and advocacy.

The awards use a multi-stage evaluation process that combines both quantitative data and expert judgement. In partnership with the NUS Business School’s Centre for Governance and Sustainability (CGS), Singapore Management University and Handshakes, the selection process involves independent panels comprising industry leaders and experts. For selected awards such as the Outstanding CEO and Best Retail Broker Awards, feedback and votes from the investment community are also considered.

Strengthening Singapore’s capital market standards

David Gerald, Founder, President and CEO of SIAS, emphasised the awards’ role in reinforcing trust and integrity in Singapore’s marketplace. “Good governance is the foundation of a trusted marketplace. The Investors’ Choice Awards reflect SIAS’ commitment to fostering integrity and accountability among corporates and professionals who lead by example. As companies embrace sustainability and technological transformation, these awards highlight those who not only deliver strong performance but also uphold the highest standards of ethics and responsibility,” he said.

The ICA 2025 is supported by sponsors including Fraxtor, Far East Organisation, PwC, Singapore Airlines and H/Advisors, with SGX Group as the supporting exchange. The initiative is also endorsed by leading organisations such as the Association of Banks in Singapore (ABS), Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA), Singapore Business Federation (SBF), and Singapore Fintech Association (SFA), alongside several professional and industry bodies.

As the largest organised investor group in Asia, SIAS continues to champion good governance, investor protection and education. The association works with regulators, corporations and industry stakeholders to raise transparency standards and promote ethical business practices across Singapore’s financial ecosystem.
