Telkomsel partners with OpenAI to accelerate AI adoption in Indonesia

Telkomsel partners with OpenAI to drive AI adoption across Indonesia, showcasing innovations and collaborations at Solution Day 2025.

Telkomsel has entered a strategic partnership with OpenAI, unveiled during its annual Solution Day 2025, marking a significant step in the company’s mission to bring advanced artificial intelligence solutions to businesses and communities across Indonesia.

The agreement will see Telkomsel explore AI-driven initiatives across a wide range of industries, including banking, transportation, and government services. Plans include deploying ChatGPT Enterprise to Telkomsel employees, enhancing AI literacy and productivity, and leveraging the company’s extensive network to make AI technology widely accessible nationwide.

Through Solution Day 2025, we demonstrate how digital innovation can deliver significant added value across various industry sectors. As a trusted partner in Indonesia’s digital transformation, we believe sustainable growth can be achieved through open collaboration, relevant innovation, and the precise application of technology,” said Wong Soon Nam, director of planning and transformation at Telkomsel.

Solution Day 2025 showcases innovation and collaboration

Solution Day 2025 attracted over 800 business leaders, innovators, and decision-makers representing more than 200 leading companies. The event served as a platform to highlight Telkomsel’s long-term vision for digital transformation and showcased practical applications of emerging technology.

Among the innovations featured were QRIS Soundbox, designed for secure and efficient digital payments, SiteSense, an advanced location intelligence solution, and LinkCar, a connected vehicle management system. Savia, an intelligent conversational platform designed to optimise customer service interactions at scale, was also introduced.

The event also brought together global technology players, with notable companies such as Huawei, Ericsson, ZTE, Tencent, and GSMA in attendance. Will Wang, director of Huawei Indonesia Telkomsel account department, commented, “Solution Day is not merely a showcase of technology – it is proof of how Telkomsel has become a trusted partner for Indonesia’s industrial ecosystem, delivering scalable technology solutions that create real impact. Huawei remains fully committed to supporting Telkomsel in its mission to serve enterprise customers.”

Building digital resilience through partnerships

Telkomsel’s partnership with OpenAI strengthens its role as a key player in advancing Indonesia’s digital infrastructure and business resilience. The initiative aligns with the company’s ongoing #PastiAdaSolusi campaign, which encourages innovation, collaboration, and the adoption of tailored digital tools to address critical challenges in various sectors.

In 2024, the #PastiAdaSolusi campaign saw Telkomsel collaborate with Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) to accelerate the digitisation of financial services for SMEs and with Putra Perkasa Abadi (PPA) to modernise mining operations and promote sustainable practices. Previous collaborations with Gojek and Samsung laid the foundation for this campaign, providing businesses with customised solutions and device ecosystems.

As Telkomsel deepens its partnerships with leading technology companies, including OpenAI, the firm continues to position itself as a driving force in Indonesia’s digital transformation journey. Solution Day 2025 reflects this vision, bringing together innovation, expertise, and partnerships to accelerate the adoption of AI and other advanced digital technologies across industries.
