Anthropic offers Claude Fable 5 access at no extra cost until 19 July
Anthropic offers eligible Claude subscribers limited access to Claude Fable 5 at no extra cost until 19 July.
Anthropic is offering eligible paying subscribers temporary access to its latest artificial intelligence model, Claude Fable 5, at no additional cost. The limited-time promotion will remain available until 19 July 2026, allowing users to test the model through their existing Claude subscriptions.

The offer does not provide unlimited access. Claude Fable 5 uses part of each subscriber’s existing weekly allowance, and users can allocate up to half of that limit to the new model. Those who reach the threshold will need to purchase additional usage credits or move to another Claude model.
The promotion arrives as competition in the AI assistant market continues to grow. Major technology companies, including OpenAI, Google, Microsoft and Anthropic, are introducing new models and using trials or temporary access offers to encourage users to explore their latest technology.
Rather than providing unrestricted access, Anthropic is giving subscribers a limited opportunity to experience Claude Fable 5 within their current plans. The approach may help the company increase adoption while allowing users to decide whether the model offers enough value to justify additional spending after the promotion ends.
Eligible subscribers receive automatic access
Claude Fable 5 is available at no extra cost to users on eligible Pro, Max and Team subscriptions. Customers with premium seat-based Enterprise plans are also included in the promotion. Access is provided automatically, meaning subscribers do not need to enter a promotional code, activate an offer or complete a separate registration process.
We're extending Claude Fable 5 access on all paid plans, as well as keeping Claude Code’s weekly rate limits 50% higher, through July 19.

Eligible users can find Claude Fable 5 in the model picker across supported Claude services. These include Claude Web (Desktop and Mobile), Claude Code, Claude Cowork, and Claude Design. The model is also available through Claude for Microsoft 365, Claude for Teams and selected tools designed for enterprise customers.
Although the model does not carry a separate promotional allowance, users can spend up to 50% of their existing weekly plan limit on Claude Fable 5. This means access will depend partly on the subscriber’s current plan and available usage. The remaining portion of the weekly allowance can continue to be used with other supported Claude models.
Anthropic has also extended a separate 50% increase in weekly Claude Code usage limits until 19 July. The extension now aligns with the end date of the Claude Fable 5 promotion, providing developers and other Claude Code users with additional capacity for the same period.
Some Claude users remain outside the promotion
The temporary offer is not available across all Claude plans or services. Users on the free tier will not receive promotional access to Claude Fable 5. Standard Enterprise seats and usage-based Enterprise customers are also excluded from the offer.
Developers using Anthropic’s application programming interface will continue to pay the standard rates for Claude Fable 5. API usage is billed separately and is not included in the temporary subscriber promotion. The offer is therefore focused mainly on customers who already pay for selected Claude subscription plans.
Anthropic’s decision to connect Fable 5 access to existing weekly limits allows the company to offer the model without providing unrestricted use. It also allows subscribers to explore the model through tools they already use while keeping demand within established usage controls.
The promotion could help Anthropic gather more information about how customers use its newest model across different services. Increased access may provide insight into demand from individual subscribers, development teams and larger organisations before the company decides how Claude Fable 5 will be priced or included in plans.
Additional usage will require separate payment
Subscribers who use 50% of their weekly allowance on Claude Fable 5 will have two options. They can purchase additional usage credits to continue working with the model or switch to another Claude model and use the remainder of their weekly allowance.
Any usage credits purchased after reaching the threshold will be charged separately from the user’s subscription. This combines fixed subscription access with additional usage-based billing, rather than providing unlimited use under the premium model.
The promotion is scheduled to end at 11:59:59 pm Pacific Time on 19 July 2026. After the offer expires, Claude Fable 5 will no longer be included within eligible subscribers’ regular weekly plan limits. Customers who want to continue using the model will need to pay through Anthropic’s usage credit system.
The approach reflects a wider shift in the AI industry as advanced models become more expensive to develop and operate. Technology companies are increasingly exploring pricing structures that combine monthly subscriptions with pay-as-you-go charges for higher levels of usage or access to premium models.
Limited-time offers can allow customers to test new AI technology before deciding whether to pay for continued access. At the same time, these promotions allow providers to measure real-world demand and understand how users interact with new models before introducing longer-term pricing arrangements.
