The new Cirqa Smart Band focuses on collecting fitness and wellness data while keeping the design as simple as possible.

The launch places Garmin in direct competition with other screen-free fitness wearables that have become popular among users looking for continuous health monitoring rather than smartwatch features. By removing the display, the company is targeting people who prefer a more discreet wearable that stays focused on tracking rather than notifications or apps.
Garmin enters the screen-free fitness market
The Cirqa Smart Band marks a new direction for Garmin, which has traditionally focused on GPS watches and feature-rich fitness wearables. Unlike the company’s existing products, the Cirqa does not include a screen. Instead, users access all of their health and activity information through the Garmin Connect mobile app.
Garmin has designed the tracker to be lightweight and comfortable for everyday use. It can be worn either on the wrist or around the upper arm, giving users more flexibility depending on their preferred activity or comfort level. While the device has a minimalist appearance, it still includes a physical button on the side. This button allows users to switch between their preferred activities without needing a touchscreen.
Battery life is another key feature of the new wearable. Garmin says the Cirqa Smart Band can operate for up to 10 days on a single charge, reducing the need for frequent charging. This extended battery performance is intended to support continuous health monitoring, including overnight sleep tracking and daily activity recording.
The introduction of a screenless design reflects a growing interest in wearables that collect health information without constantly demanding the user’s attention. Instead of displaying notifications or encouraging regular interaction, the Cirqa quietly records data throughout the day while leaving analysis to the companion smartphone app.
Health tracking remains the main focus
Although it lacks a display, the Cirqa Smart Band offers many of the health and fitness features found in Garmin’s other wearable products. It tracks daily step counts, calories burned and sleep while automatically recognising more than 80 different physical activities.
The automatic activity detection covers a wide variety of exercises, including walking, running and yoga. Once recorded, all activity information is synchronised with the Garmin Connect app, where users can review detailed statistics and monitor their progress over time.
The tracker also collects a range of health measurements designed to provide a broader picture of personal wellbeing. These include heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen levels, stress tracking and skin temperature measurements. Garmin also provides recovery time estimates, helping users understand how long their bodies may need to recover after exercise.
All collected information is processed within the Garmin Connect app, allowing users to review trends and gain insights into their overall health. While Garmin offers an optional Garmin Connect+ subscription for additional features and deeper analysis, the company’s core tracking functions remain available without requiring a paid membership. This means users can access the primary health and fitness data included with the device at no additional cost.
Pricing, colours and availability
Garmin has also equipped the Cirqa Smart Band with Connected GPS functionality. Rather than including its own GPS hardware, the wearable connects to a paired iPhone or Android smartphone and uses the phone’s GPS signal to record routes during outdoor activities. This approach helps maintain the device’s lightweight design while still supporting route tracking when required.
The Cirqa Smart Band is available in two strap sizes, giving users more choice when selecting a comfortable fit. Garmin has also introduced the device in several colour options to suit different preferences. At launch, customers can choose from Citron Grey, Mauve, French Grey, Dark Olive, Captain Blue, French Blue and Black.
The new wearable is priced at US$200 and is available immediately. With its combination of extended battery life, comprehensive health tracking and screen-free design, Garmin is entering a growing segment of the wearable market that prioritises continuous monitoring over traditional smartwatch functions. The Cirqa Smart Band offers an alternative for users who want detailed health insights while avoiding the distractions that often come with display-equipped devices.
As competition in the fitness wearable market continues to increase, Garmin’s latest product demonstrates that some consumers are looking for simpler devices that focus solely on health and activity tracking. By combining familiar Garmin fitness features with a minimalist design, the Cirqa Smart Band broadens the company’s product range while offering users another option for everyday health monitoring.
