REDMI Note 17 series pushes battery capacity to 10,000mAh
Xiaomi debuts four new smartphones with silicon-carbon batteries up to 10,000mAh, rugged drop resistance, six years of support, and Singapore launch pricing.
Xiaomi has officially introduced the REDMI Note 17 series with four smartphones, headlined by the debut of its first REDMI Note Pro Max model and a massive 10,000mAh battery. Across the entire range, the company has integrated larger power cells, enhanced water and drop protection on the two Pro models, and extended security updates for up to six years across every device.

The complete lineup comprises the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G, REDMI Note 17 5G, and the standard REDMI Note 17. Worldwide cumulative shipments for the REDMI Note family surpassed 500 million units as of 31 May 2026.
Battery capacity increases across the range
Leading the technological shift is the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G, which houses a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery supported by 100W HyperCharge and up to 27W wired reverse charging to supply power to compatible devices. According to internal testing by Xiaomi, this flagship capacity provides up to three days of battery life, while 20 minutes of charging supplies sufficient power for a full day of use. The remaining devices in the portfolio also gain substantial capacities, with the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G adopting an 8,340mAh pack paired with 67W HyperCharge, while both the REDMI Note 17 5G and standard REDMI Note 17 carry 7,700mAh batteries with 45W charging.
Laboratory tests conducted by Xiaomi found that the batteries retained more than 80% of their original capacity after 1,600 complete charging cycles, which the company equates to more than six years of typical use. Actual results will vary according to usage patterns and charging conditions.
Software support follows a similar longevity focus, with Xiaomi providing up to six years of security updates across the entire four-device lineup. The company also claims that the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G can maintain a comparable software experience for six years, based on an internal ageing test. Actual performance can vary with software versions, network conditions, and day-to-day usage.
Pro models add stronger water and drop protection
Durability receives a substantial upgrade on the upper tier, where the REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G and REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G feature Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 alongside IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K dust and water resistance ratings. Both models have received TÜV SÜD five-star Titan Quality Certification covering drop resistance, water resistance, and battery performance. Furthermore, SGS testing certified that both Pro handsets can withstand drops from up to three metres onto a smooth granite surface under specified test conditions. Xiaomi cautions that phones can still suffer damage when dropped, that water resistance can deteriorate through ordinary wear, physical damage, or repairs, and that liquid damage outside the stated test conditions is excluded from warranty coverage.
The standard REDMI Note 17 and REDMI Note 17 5G carry IP65 ratings instead. Both of these handsets feature 6.99-inch FHD+ AMOLED displays with refresh rates of up to 120Hz alongside 50MP main cameras. In terms of processing hardware, the REDMI Note 17 uses the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 Mobile Platform, while the 5G model runs on the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 Mobile Platform.
Pro Max gets faster storage and more AI features
Performance on the Pro tier is differentiated by processor and memory configurations. The REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G uses the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 Mobile Platform, paired with LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage on its 256GB and 512GB configurations, whereas the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G uses the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 Mobile Platform. Both Pro models feature 6.83-inch AMOLED displays with 1.5K resolution, refresh rates of up to 120Hz, and a claimed peak brightness of 3,500 nits. In the camera department, the Pro Max offers an optically stabilised 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP front camera, while the Pro 5G features a stabilised 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 16MP front camera.
Xiaomi HyperAI is available on the Pro Max, providing tools such as AI Writing, AI Interpreter, AI Speech Recognition, and AI Dynamic Wallpapers. Google Gemini and Circle to Search with Google are supported across all four models, alongside Xiaomi’s AI-assisted image editing features.
Singapore pricing starts at S$369
Retail pricing in Singapore positions the top-tier REDMI Note 17 Pro Max 5G at S$749 for the 8GB and 256GB configuration, with the 512GB edition listed at S$849, though early launch promotions lower these figures to S$669 and S$769 respectively. Moving down the line, the REDMI Note 17 Pro 5G begins at S$549 for an online-exclusive 6GB and 256GB model, while its 8GB and 256GB variant sells for S$599. The mid-tier REDMI Note 17 5G comes with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage at S$449, whereas the standard 4G REDMI Note 17 retails at S$369 for the online-exclusive 6GB and 128GB version and S$399 for the 256GB option, with early promotional pricing lowering the entry point to S$319.
Pre-orders in Singapore commence on 27 August at 8 pm and run through 2 September, preceding an extended promotional sales period spanning 3 September to 30 September. Purchases made during the promotional period qualify for model-dependent battery and screen replacement benefits, with the Pro models also receiving limited back-cover replacement and liquid-damage repair coverage. Furthermore, customers who buy a REDMI Note 17 series device by 2 September 2027 are eligible for 24 months of quality assurance from the date of first purchase.
