SHARP introduces AQUOS wish5s with safety features, AI imaging and durable design
SHARP launches AQUOS wish5s with AI imaging, SOS safety features, durable build and 8way audio at S$399 in Singapore.
SHARP has launched the AQUOS wish5s, a smartphone positioned around safety, durability and everyday usability. The device combines AI-assisted imaging, enhanced audio, and a reinforced build, alongside a refreshed metallic design in Navy and Copper.

The model continues the AQUOS wish series approach, which centres on practical features such as long battery life, physical durability and built-in safety tools, rather than headline performance upgrades.
AI imaging and audio for everyday use
The AQUOS wish5s includes a 50.1-megapixel rear camera supported by SHARP’s ProPix lite engine, designed to improve clarity in common shooting conditions. The camera system uses automatic scene detection to select shooting modes, while an AI Shadow Removal feature reduces unwanted shadows in close-up shots and helps limit reflections when photographing through glass.
These adjustments target routine scenarios such as food photography and indoor shooting, where lighting inconsistencies are common. The device also supports night scene and portrait capture through the same imaging system.
Audio output is handled through an 8way audio system, which simulates sound from multiple directions to create a wider soundstage. The feature is designed for use with wireless and over-ear headphones, with the aim of improving immersion across music and video playback.
Built for durability and personal safety
The device retains a set of safety-focused features introduced in earlier models, including a vibration-activated SOS function. When triggered by shaking the phone, the feature emits a loud alert and sends location information to pre-registered contacts, even if the device is inside a bag.
An AI-powered call assistant is also included to identify and block suspicious calls, extending the phone’s focus on personal safety beyond physical emergencies.
On the hardware side, the AQUOS wish5s supports IPX9 waterproofing and complies with MIL-STD-810H standards for durability. This includes resistance to high-pressure water exposure, elevated temperatures and impact from drops onto hard surfaces. The casing incorporates approximately 60% recycled plastic, reflecting a material design choice that balances durability with environmental considerations.
The phone features a 6.6-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate, paired with a 5,000mAh battery intended to support extended daily use. SHARP’s Intelligent Charge function manages charging behaviour to preserve long-term battery health. The device runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, and supports microSD expansion of up to 2TB.
Design update and availability
The AQUOS wish5s introduces a metallic finish while retaining the “free curve” design developed under miyake design. The rounded form is intended to improve grip and comfort, while the updated texture provides a more refined appearance compared to previous models.
The smartphone is available from 17 April 2026 through SHARP Singapore’s online channels, including its official website, Lazada and Shopee, at a recommended retail price of S$399.
