The centrepiece of the announcement is a 24.5-inch gaming display capable of reaching refresh rates up to 720Hz, positioning it among the fastest consumer monitors currently available. The company also revealed a new pair of lightweight gaming headphones and refreshed designs for its wireless earbuds and gaming accessories, expanding its ecosystem for players seeking specialised hardware.
The new products were made available from 15 April, except for the monitor, which is scheduled to launch later this year.
Sony targets esports performance with ultra-fast gaming monitor
At the heart of Sony’s announcement is the Inzone M10S II gaming monitor, a premium display designed primarily for esports and high-level competitive gaming. Priced at US$1,100, the monitor is aimed at enthusiasts and professional players willing to invest in high-performance hardware.
The display features a tandem OLED panel supplied by LG, supporting a standard refresh rate of 540Hz at QHD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. For scenarios that require even higher responsiveness, users can switch to a 720Hz refresh rate by lowering the resolution to 720p. This dual-mode approach allows players to prioritise either visual clarity or maximum speed depending on their needs.
Sony has also incorporated a Motion Blur Reduction system that uses Black Frame Insertion technology. According to the company, this feature increases brightness while maintaining a response time of just 0.02 milliseconds, helping to keep fast-moving visuals sharp and reducing ghosting effects that can affect reaction time during gameplay.
Additional display enhancements include a newly developed Super Anti-Glare film intended to minimise reflections and improve visibility in brightly lit environments. The company stated that the monitor’s physical design was shaped by feedback from professional gamers, resulting in a stand with a smaller footprint and a broader tilt range of -5 to 35 degrees.
To address concerns about long-term durability, particularly with OLED technology, the Inzone M10S II includes protective features, including a custom heat sink and panel care systems. Sony is also offering a three-year warranty with the monitor to provide reassurance for buyers investing in the premium display.
New lightweight gaming headphones focus on clarity and immersion
Alongside the monitor, Sony unveiled the Inzone H6 Air wired gaming headphones, designed to provide clear positional audio and extended comfort during long gaming sessions. The headphones are priced at US$200 and are based on Sony’s established MDR-MV1 studio monitor headphones, which are known for their accurate sound reproduction.
The Inzone H6 Air adopts an open-back design, allowing sound to move more naturally around the ear and improving spatial awareness. This design choice is particularly suited to gaming environments where detecting directional audio cues can provide a competitive advantage.
Weighing just 199 grams without the detachable cable and boom microphone, the headphones are intended to reduce fatigue during extended use. Sony has also introduced a dedicated RPG and Adventure sound profile that enhances environmental detail and dialogue clarity, aiming to improve immersion in story-driven titles.
Accessing the specialised audio profile requires the use of Sony’s USB-C Audio box. This accessory adds features such as virtual 7.1 surround sound and support for 360-degree spatial audio formats. The company noted that these enhancements are designed to deliver more accurate sound-source positioning, which can benefit both competitive and cinematic gaming experiences.
The overall design reflects Sony’s strategy of adapting its professional audio expertise to the gaming sector, blending studio-level audio technology with gaming-focused features.
Updated earbuds and themed accessories expand the Inzone lineup
In addition to the new monitor and headphones, Sony introduced updates to its existing wireless gaming earbuds. A new translucent colour option, Glass Purple, has been added to the lineup, offering a distinctive look inspired by retro gaming hardware.
The design is intended to evoke nostalgia among gamers familiar with earlier generations of gaming consoles, particularly those that featured transparent or coloured plastic casings. While the earbuds themselves remain technically unchanged, the new finish provides an aesthetic alternative for users seeking a more personalised style.
Sony also announced themed editions of several gaming accessories developed in partnership with the esports organisation Fnatic. These include special versions of the company’s Mouse-A gaming mouse and Mat-F and Mat-D mouse pads. The collaboration reflects Sony’s growing interest in aligning its gaming hardware with competitive gaming culture and professional teams.
All newly announced accessories are available immediately, while the Inzone M10S II monitor is scheduled to arrive later in the year. With these releases, Sony appears to be reinforcing its commitment to the esports segment, where performance-focused hardware and strong brand identity are increasingly important to both professional players and dedicated enthusiasts.
