Vivo challenges iPhone 16 Pro Max with X200 Ultra’s video stability

Vivo’s X200 Ultra teaser compares video stability with the iPhone 16 Pro Max, promising top-tier camera upgrades and advanced stabilisation.

Vivo has released a teaser for its upcoming X200 Ultra, showcasing impressive video stabilisation. The teaser hints at major upgrades, though not in the ways you might expect from a high-end smartphone.

Vivo pits the X200 Ultra against Apple’s flagship

On Weibo, Vivo’s executive, Han Boxiao, shared a video comparing the video stabilisation of the upcoming Vivo X200 Ultra with Apple’s yet-to-be-released iPhone 16 Pro Max. The footage captures a running scene where the X200 Ultra demonstrates significantly greater stability. Unsurprisingly, Vivo would only make such a direct comparison if it had a clear advantage.

Han Boxiao’s captions also reveal several exciting features set to debut with the X200 Ultra. The device boasts the strongest ultrawide camera in history, promising unparalleled image quality. It features full-focus optical image stabilisation (OIS) across all three rear cameras, ensuring sharper photos and videos. Advanced video capabilities include 4K recording at 120 frames per second (FPS) and 4K 10-bit Log recording, catering to professional and enthusiast videographers alike.

The “full-focus” technology allows every pixel on the image sensor to contribute to autofocus, unlike traditional methods that limit autofocus to specific areas. This innovation results in sharper, more detailed images and videos, positioning the X200 Ultra as a formidable competitor in mobile photography.

Will the Vivo X200 Ultra launch in Singapore?

A key question remains—will the Vivo X200 Ultra be available in Singapore? Vivo previously stopped selling its flagship X-series models in the country, with the last release being the X80 Pro in 2022. Despite strong demand for premium smartphones in the region, the X90 and X100 series never made it to the market.

Singapore’s market clearly prefers high-end devices, and the Vivo X200 Ultra could easily compete with alternatives like the OPPO Find X8 Pro and Xiaomi 15 Ultra. If Vivo decides to return to the Singaporean market with its latest flagship, it could provide a compelling option for those seeking cutting-edge mobile photography features.
