Xiaomi 15 Ultra to launch globally on March 2

Xiaomi confirms the global launch of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra on March 2, 2025. It features Leica branding, 90W fast charging, and a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip.

Xiaomi’s highly anticipated flagship smartphone, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, has an official global launch date. Lei Jun, the CEO of Xiaomi, confirmed on his social media account that the device will be unveiled worldwide on March 2, 2025.

In his post on Twitter/X, Lei Jun also reaffirmed Xiaomi’s ongoing partnership with Leica, sharing an image of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra featuring Leica’s branding on its camera housing. The phone’s design resembles Leica’s silver chrome camera models, notably the Leica M11. While the homage to the iconic German cameras is evident, the smartphone’s overall design has yet to impress in leaked images. However, these may only be CGI renders that do not fully capture the device’s real aesthetics.

The launch coincides with the MWC 2025 event

Lei Jun’s announcement aligns with Xiaomi’s official RSVP for its Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025 keynote, indicating that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will be the centrepiece of its presentation. Given the event’s global scale, Xiaomi is expected to unveil its latest innovations alongside the new flagship smartphone.

For those following the event in Singapore, the launch will occur at 9 PM SGT on the same day.

In addition to confirming its imminent release, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra has been registered on the Infocomm Media Development Authority’s (IMDA) equipment portal, signifying that Singapore is among the markets set to receive the device soon after its global debut.

Key features confirmed

Aside from its design and launch details, some specifications of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra have also been confirmed. The device will support 90W fast charging, ensuring a rapid power boost for users. It is also expected to feature Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, following the Xiaomi 15’s exclusive China launch, which included the same processor.

With these features, Xiaomi aims to compete with other flagship smartphones in 2025, offering high-end performance and a premium camera experience in collaboration with Leica. More details will likely emerge as the launch date approaches, giving a clearer picture of what the Xiaomi 15 Ultra offers.
