OnePlus confirms 15R launch date as part of three-device announcement

OnePlus confirms the 17 December launch of the 15R, Watch Lite, and Pad Go 2, with UK pre-order discounts and added perks.

OnePlus has confirmed that it will introduce three new devices on 17 December, marking another major product reveal just weeks after the debut of the OnePlus 15. The upcoming line-up includes the OnePlus 15R, the OnePlus Watch Lite, and the OnePlus Pad Go 2, signalling a busy end to the year for the company.

OnePlus prepares to unveil the 15R

The OnePlus 15R is positioned as a slightly more affordable alternative to the recently launched OnePlus 15, while still offering strong performance and premium features. Although the company has not yet provided full specifications, it has confirmed several key details. The phone will be available in Charcoal Black and Mint Breeze, featuring a metal frame and multiple durability ratings, including IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K.

Typical flagship smartphones carry only one water-resistance rating, most commonly IP68, which allows a device to be submerged in up to 1.5 metres of water for up to 30 minutes. By adding IP69 and IP69K, OnePlus indicates that the 15R will also withstand high-pressure and high-temperature water jets. This places the device among the most rugged mainstream smartphones launched this year.

Leaks circulating ahead of the official announcement suggest further high-end specifications. These include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset—though not the Elite variant—a dual-lens 50MP camera system, a 165Hz display, and a substantial 8,000mAh battery. If accurate, the battery capacity would surpass even the OnePlus 15’s 7,300mAh unit.

Additional devices arriving on the same day

Alongside the 15R, OnePlus will unveil the OnePlus Watch Lite and the OnePlus Pad Go 2. The tablet is expected to arrive in Shadow Black and Lavender Drift and will feature 5G support, an anti-glare glass finish, and an integrated stylus. These features suggest that OnePlus aims to position the Pad Go 2 as a versatile device suited for productivity and entertainment.

The simultaneous unveiling of a smartphone, smartwatch, and tablet marks one of the brand’s most extensive single-day launches, offering consumers a new range of devices that complement its existing ecosystem.

Pre-order incentives for early buyers

OnePlus is also preparing a range of pre-order incentives for customers in the UK, with similar deals expected in the US and other regions. Those who pre-order the OnePlus 15R will receive a £100 discount, a free 120W adapter kit, and a sandstone magnetic case. Customers who trade in an eligible device will also be given a coupon worth up to £100.

For the OnePlus Pad Go 2, early buyers will be able to save £50, receive a complimentary smartwatch valued at £249, and secure an additional £30 off through a trade-in programme. Verified students and corporate users will be eligible for an extra 10% discount on either device.

With the triple launch date set for 17 December, consumers will soon have a clearer view of OnePlus’s end-of-year strategy and the capabilities of its newest hardware.
