Singapore Polytechnic (SP) brought its entrepreneurial spirit to the forefront at TechInnovation during SWITCH 2025, where students, alumni, and industry leaders came together to celebrate and energise the startup ecosystem. The SP Pavilion served as a hub of innovation, featuring startup showcases, panel discussions, and talks that encouraged collaboration and creative thinking among emerging entrepreneurs.
Nurturing innovation and collaboration
TechInnovate, Singapore Polytechnic’s platform at SWITCH 2025, highlighted the institution’s commitment to fostering innovation through its vibrant startup community. The showcase featured a mix of student and alumni ventures, each presenting solutions designed to address real-world challenges. Visitors explored a range of SPiNOFF ventures and attended sessions that provided valuable insights from youth founders, mentors, and seasoned industry professionals.
The event opened with remarks from Ms Yen Yen Tan, Senior Director of the Business & Creatives cluster and Director of Industry & Partnerships at Singapore Polytechnic. In her address, she underscored the importance of nurturing entrepreneurial talent and creating a supportive environment for young innovators to thrive.
Showcasing entrepreneurial success
Among the many startups presented was Rehabify, a venture led by Lim Jian Ping from the School of Computing. Serving as Founder and Business Development lead, Lim shared his journey of building a tech-driven rehabilitation solution aimed at improving patient recovery experiences. His presentation drew attention to the increasing number of SP alumni turning their innovative ideas into practical business ventures.
The event also featured a lively panel discussion with leaders from across the innovation landscape. Panellists included Glen Lim, Senior Programme Director at MedTech Innovator Asia Pacific; Chong Ing Kai, Founder and CEO of Stick ‘EM; Lim Ee Ling, CEO and Co-founder of Wavesparks; Nuryanee Anisah, CEO and Co-founder of Commenhers; and Nyan Lin Htun, COO of Neural Drive. Together, they discussed how youth-led innovation can shape industries, create meaningful impact, and inspire others to embark on entrepreneurial paths.
Driving the next generation of entrepreneurs
Across the exhibition booths, SP students and alumni demonstrated their creativity and drive through a variety of innovative products and solutions. From technology-based startups to socially driven projects, the showcase reflected Singapore Polytechnic’s emphasis on hands-on learning and real-world problem-solving. Attendees had the opportunity to engage directly with the creators, gaining a deeper understanding of how these ventures evolved from classroom ideas to functioning startups.
The SP Pavilion at TechInnovation reinforced the institution’s role as a launchpad for young entrepreneurs.
